I made the mistake of buying Nike free runs felt awkward while running and sometimes id lose my balance.
Went to athlete’s foot and did that test they said free runs would have to be the worst shoe for me because my feet roll in while walking.

They recommended a pair of Asics bought them from insports as they were cheaper. Yeah usually the size chart is the same within the brand, I asked the same question from the retailer of my Nike romaleos they said Nike size chart is the same across all their shoes so I bought the same size as my free runs and they were a perfect fit, not 100% sure about Asics you could ask them but as for running shoes they were pretty good.

I also bought a pair of these while in Europe great for walking\hiking not sure how they are for running but these were super comfortable.

    So I'm a pronator

    They recommended Brooks Adrenaline GTS13's

I think the Asics Kayano 19 are similar shoes too.

    Thoughts on these?

    Basically....

Adrenaline GTS 13 vs Asics Kayano vs Asics Kinsei

Do they all work for pronation?

I'm partial to Brooks. I have the PureFlow for short runs, and Glycerin for long runs.

    The GTS look horrendous lol

He did say the kayano and GTS would both work but, only issue is I didn't get to try the Kayano

update for those paying an interest and following along

I've managed a lot of kms over the last week, probably too much in hindsight as my calf feels a bit of pain now, although I'm proud I managed so much

Converted to miles for you Americans as well lol

    5/8 - 22km (13.75mi)
    6/8 - 14km (8.75mi)
    7/8 - 26km (16.25mi) then another 1.5km at night
    8/8 - 10km (6.25mi)
    9/8 - 27km (16.875mi)
    10/8 - 5km (3.125mi)
    11/8 - 10km (6.25mi)
    12/8 - 27.5km (17mi)
    13/8 - 5km (3.125mi)
    14/8 - 16km (10mi)

Now that's all been treadmill work (as you can tell from the images I posted up previously) except for the two 5km ones which were outside.

Definitely think I need the shoes sooner rather than later but.

Well I've ordered better shoes and some skins etc

Supposed to arrive in a week or so, then I'll be able to start to wear them and get through the initial discomfort they'll cause

That was part 1 (time on treadmill stops just over 100 min). Went to 30km total

(Then back for weights an hour after and another 2km)

Yes. I love mine. Always make my calves feel better after a long run. Might take some getting used to, though.

lol fair enough, this isn’t affecting your progression on lifting?

I'm not trying to progress really. I rather do it for enjoyment (I.e don't follow a lifting routine). But no I do get stronger/regain strength since losing it overseas - not bad considering injuries too

just now IN on this thread.. I've racked up 34 marathons in the past 3 years. Initially trained to get built up to 30 miles or so but now Just do mild/light cardio to stay in shape between races. I like my powerlifting too much to do cardio during the week, but I'm not an elite powerlifter or anything so I'd rather go running all over the country and see chit that most ppl won't ever get to see.
