'was superior' in his prime maybe, but not anymore.
You cannot expect someone to remain on top forever until they retire at 65. Silva is 38. I do believe Silva in his prime would easily beat Weidman at his best, but Silva is past his prime. I dont expect Weidman to hold the title for long. A lot of great MW's could have beaten Silva last night.
Silva was tired out with the ground work after Weidman's takedown in the first. After that I think he was trying to get Weidman to use up some energy, which he still had plenty more of than Silva did.

Went last night, first UFC I've ever been to in person and I can confirm the quoted. I was sitting in 800 dollar seats and could not carry on any sort of MMA conversation with anybody as nobody knew even the very basics of the sport. Actually heard somebody behind me ask who Chuck Liddell is... That said I had a freaking blast and will be going to future events.
