My previous thread:

So lately, I've realized I am down to 1 muslim friend (who, like me, has a non-muslim g-f).
When I see pics of my family, they seem as foreign to me as someone from China or Korea. I am declining wedding invites because the idea of going into a mosque turns my stomach. I dont even go to Eid parties because it messes up my macros. A few months back, an old friend was back in town visiting, we were having a good time, he ruined the whole flow by pausing to pray... I just left. He wanted to go out on the town, I declined because I told him I didnt feel like finding a sink for him to wash his feet in at 8PM. He raged, I was like whatever, call me when you are able to coherently apply your ability to reason to all things in life, not just your job.
I look at pics of the San Bernardino bombers and all I can do is be sad that people in the world still believe this hooey to the point where they would kill in the name of a religion.
My family says "go visit Pakistan" and I tell them the only muslim country on Earth worth visiting is the UAE, and thats because they live like white people. There is not one place in Earth where Islam is prevalent that is actually a well-run country. UAE is run like a secular country. All "Islamic republics" are shyte srs (Pakistan, Saudi, Iran, etc.) You should see my dad's face when I tell him "If Pakistan were that great, you'd still be there..."

I still go along with all the rituals and stuff, doesn't bother me. Sitting in the mosque listening to the same sermons over and over is boring as hell, though. I do also get embarrassed by the public behavior of some muslims, but thats more of a third world peasant thing than a muslim thing, because i know hindus and christians from those places that behave yhe same way. Other than that, it doesn't impact my life in any way.

Stay safe, and good choice.
If you ever want to see what Christianity is all about (not the half truths that Islam feeds you), I'm sure you'll be welcome with open arms at any church you step into. I think you even get extra cookies if you mention you were a former Muslim (not srs, but many of them will have free cookies).Deuteronomy 28:35

I like how I mention Pakistan twice in my OP and you make this guess.
Bosnian girls tho... <3
They are the worst muslims I've ever seen, and I mean that in the best possible way.
Sitting in the mosque learning wrote Arabic and memorizing surahs was one of the things that turned me off. Your value was determined not by how much you understood, but how many surahs you memorized. I actually got a trophy for memorizing 13 surahs in 7 days at a kids camp (it was a competition), when I was 13. Yet any time you ask for a clarification, all you get is "It is the world of Allah, he is perfect, so dont question anything, since you're not perfect." Ayyy, myron bullet proof logic.
Another thing is, you have to realize the Western world was all peasants 500 yrs ago too. No one could read except royalty and nobles. This is where the Islamic world is today. The west really took off because it reformed religion to continue to encouraging people to have nuclear families and reproduce, but also to STOP nasty old testament behaviors like cutting people up out of hatred. Islam is PART of the cultural fabric of many of these places and people follow it without context or nuance. For ex. "Pigs are bad". End of story. When in fact, pigs were bad 600 years ago, but modern porcine agriculture actually produces clean, disease-free meat.Last edited by samir316; 12-14-2015 at 09:52 AM.

You should read the thread I linked in the OP. Father is Pakistani, Mother is ITALIAN.And I wont lie, it really helped me be exposed to western culture when I compare to my "pureblood" paki friends.
To be honest I am more of the type : I walk my own path. Yes its hard, and the cost of it is I have to re-discover a lot of the wisdom of the elders that is nested in religious practices. Like realizing even as a man, its not a great idea to be a sl00t - whereas religion would just have prevented that from ever happening. But the benefit of it is pure and utter freedom to live my life on my own terms. I would rather live erroneously out of my own will than live correctly but through ignorance. Please read this: http://www.jimwendler.com/2011/09/time-to-man-up/
