Anyway away from legs which is better and faster in making progress? I have been playing basketball for over 8 years so my legs are pretty decent actually they have pretty much way more muscles than the rest of my body which is annoying as **** so i am skipping legs till u get a decent upper body I dont want a weak upper body and tough lower body i will look weird as ****

A simple google search would have shown you that weights are the way forward. There is a reason bodybuilders go to the gym and use weights and not prance around a little kiddys park and that's because weights give you better results.
Also define what you consider strong? Powerlifters also train in a gym lifting weights not on the street and these are people who are considered some of the strongest people in the world.
Depends entirely on what your goals are.Squat: 202.5kg | 446lbs
Bench: 125kg | 275lbs
Deadlift: 235kg | 518lbs

Nope but muscles can tell the difference between weights and you sure as hell cant hit each muscle harder than you can in the gym
Calisthenics AINT bad , its just not optimal for maximum gains
we dont hate it we just are saying that it aint better than the gym for mass , a good thing about calisthenics is that you get ALOT of endurance in the processSig line can't be a novel

why do I have to be big to know what im talking about?
Someone who studies about muscle anatomy and reads alot on bodybuilding knows more than you and pretty much 95% of people in this website , you don't have to be big to know what you're talking about.
I've been here since 2010 and created account on 2011 and from all these years spent here I probably know more than you do , not to mention that if you want someone to prove me right I'll just call the big boy misc to come to this thread and you'll have the same answers I'm giving to OP.

My point was muscles can't tell the difference between force, OP said: street workout makes your muscles not go down easily also it makes u stronger.
That is bull****. Calisthenics is just giving your muscles dynamic loads from numerous directions, weight training for the majority of exercises are repeated movements so the body clearly gets used to these rather than having to deal with movements and forces you can't really control or anticipate.
None the less, your muscles still have to output power to move mass and they can't differentiate between force from a dumbbell or force from your own body weight.

EVERYONE who says calisthenics is not optimal for gains has never either or doesn't know how to incorporate calisthenics into their routine. I have done calisthenics for 1 year, no weights.
I have incorporated some weights recently though and will continue to do so, why limit yourself to only one way? The best routine is going to incorporate both calisthenics and weight training.
Most peope see body weight exercises as push ups, dips, and pull ups. Sure if that's all you do then you will eventually stagnate, we all know that our muscles demand progressive overload to keep growing, and there are ways to do this with BW. You just have to make these exercises harder (check out on youtube: barstarzz, hannibal for king, frank medrano etc. )Last edited by EddiePer; 06-29-2013 at 04:00 PM.
