    Help me understand this

The point of a refeed is to raise leptin and kick start your metabolism. If the body does NOT operate on a 24 hour clock (like broscientists believe), then how can a refeed be effective? If I had a high fat day the day before a refeed, wouldn't that mess with boosting leptin? How do our bodies know that we are at a surplus for the day?

In vs out, averaged out over time. 24-hour blocks are a convenient way for us to divide time. Your body knows its in a surplus because there's more calories available in a given period of time than what it has immediate need for. Although, your body doesn't "know" anything, it's just responding to stimulus as it was programmed to do by our DNA (or whatever - I'm no doctor).
