The importance of staying hydrated during a workout cant be overstated, although water does not provide energy in the same way carbohydrates and fat do, it plays an essential role in energy transformation.

Yeah, I have a problem. I literally drank 10 liters of water in 1 day and I can't get my pee transparent (meaning I am dehydrated af). Additionally, my bladder has exploded. Is there a solution for this problem?

Hydration is extremely important. Not only is it the fact that even 3% dehydration hinders performance, it is extremely important for you to keep fluid intake up because water is virtually everywhere. Your blood is split into basically plasma and cell components. Plasma is 90% water. It is safe to say that the vast majority of your body uses and consists of water. Not only that, but your kidneys will definitely thank you and in fact more urinating equals more efficient blood filtration. 20% of your total blood volume can be found in your kidneys at any moment. The kidneys are the waste disposals for bodies on the chemical and urea-formable substances. The following link is a meta-analysis from the United States National Library of Medicine, in which it explains the correlation between dietary protein and renal metabolism. This article explains that it was established that increased protein intake elevated rates of creatinine and urea excretion in the dog model [46]. The common mechanism underlying increased excretion rates was eventually attributed to changes in GFR and Van Slyke demonstrated that renal blood flow was the basis for GFR mediated changes in clearance rates in response to increased protein intake. Of course you're going to urinate a lot, who cares? Your kidneys will thank you. Not to mention summer is near, and if you've been working for that summer body and want to dry up before the beach; avoid not drinking water. Electrolyte loss and lack of fluid intake is setting you up majorly for hypothermia (heat stroke).

I’m always on at people to drink more water. It’s the best thing you can do to instantly feel better.

These people that live on fizzy drinks freak me out. I don’t know how they do it

I used to be guilty of drinking less water but when I got sick because of it, I trained myself to drink more each day. I add one glass each day until I was able to drink 12-13 glasses of water regularly. It make me feel better about my body and it help me remove unwanted fats and toxic in my body.

This is especially important if you're taking supplements. Good job on the post, and glad you got a newfound appreciation for some H2O. Learned a few things from this post as well, like the bad breath thing. Never really noticed.

Thanks for the article. 65-70% of adult body is water and that should be maintained. Any less than that and people start facing problems. Happy to hear the improvement in your health after taking the hydration steps.

If you are holding water weight, by drinking more water and reducing your sodium, you can drop some of that water weight and effectively lose weight.

Incorrect, your pee should be a bright tone of amber/yellow. If it’s clear, it would indicate overhydration, and will cause a decrease of electrolytes in your body. Electrolytes regulate muscle and nerve function meaning that overhydration can be rather counter-productive for bodybuilding.

This is not medical advice and should not be treated as such. Consult with a medical professional before making significant changes in your diet.

However, it can be said that your pee should neither be dark yellow nor clear, but bright yellow/amber.

I saw noticeable effect of hydration on muscles. Before good hydration my muscles remained dull and sore after workout. But now i can easily train my muscles hard enough by drinking plenty of water everyday.
