Preface - I've always been pretty veiny. (nurses LOVE me) & I've always been fairly lean, but lately, I'm getting really veiny in more places (chest forearms quads etc) I used to think it was directly related to leanness, but prior to this bulk cycle, I was measured at 13.7% bf & I'm fairly sure it's not that low anymore yet I'm more vascular... just curious why. I don't mind it, but this is what happens when I'm bored & get thinking on a sunday morning, lol.

Excuse the dumb question, but...vascularity? what causes it?

Not sure that keeping sodium low has anything to do with it. I consume 5,000 to 6,000 mg of it daily and have veins showing in my Abs, delts, pecs, arms, legs etc. Mine are always popping after a good carb up too.

There can't be two number ones.
Oh...just saw your age. Never mind.
It's not the sodium so much as the person's reaction to consuming it. That's where the water retention is an issue. Same with carbs as ArchAngel pointed out. If you're sodium reactive or carb reactive, or as I am, both, you'll hold water under the skin and balloon up. Potassium and heavy sweating can help."Blessed be the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle." - Psalm 144:1
Also, taxation is theft.
