First post is going to be a rant...sorry...will post my progress and photos each week with a BF % each month using the machine at the gym...(which gives suspestc results but there ya go...) Feel free to critique, congratulate or generally just say hi...anyways here goes...
Hi all,
I’m by no means a complete pleb when it comes to nutrition, Ive studied the stickies, taken home books from the library, read literature from courses that friends took yet still im dumbfounded…
Im 6ft weighing currently 17st 1lb. BF (as per the machine at the gym) is 40%.
My training sschedule is as follows:
Monday – Chest/Triceps
Tuesday – Legs
Wednesday – Back/Biceps
Thurs – Shoulder
Cardio: I walk home everyday from work for half an hour and this builds up a sweat but is by no means a fast pace…
I work up a proper sweat in the gym so I know im putting in 110% effort and my lifts are increasing. 3 months ago I was using 20kg db’s for db bench press, now im on 32kg and ive added 30kg to my deadlift sets in that time so I can see its working…(don’t laugh if that is not a good result, im getting there)
My diet is as follow and this is everyday except Sunday when I have a ‘1 meal’ blowout and even this isn’t a huge thing…maybe a meat and chips from the kebby shop…
06:00 – Protein shake, creatine, caffeine and beta alanine
06:30 – Gym
08:00 – 1 x Wholemeal Wrap with Chicken, Pesto and Broccoli
11:00 – 2 x Wholemeal Rolls with 5 Eggs and 20g Extra Light Mayo
14:00 – 1 x Wholemeal Wrap with Chicken, Pesto and Broccoli
17:00 – 1 x Wholemeal Wrap with Chicken, Pesto and Broccoli
20:00 – Pint of Skimmed Milk
P – 217g
F – 99g
C – 170g
TDEE is telling me 3500kcal and Im currently consuming 2500kcals so a large 1000kcal deficit. Yet I weigh myself at the same time, same place for the last 3 weeks and have increased 2lb’s each week…WTF?
Someone at work who I haven’t seen in ages just asked if I still go to the gym!?! What is going on…if that isn’t a kick in teeth, then I don’t know what is…
Now if it was someone else, I would tell them to make sure they have their diet on track and that they must have extra calories somewhere but I know im on point with this and having lost 3 stone now, im confident in the day to day of it all…
Any explanations, apologies for the rant…

Hi,
I'm in the same boat been dieting now for just over two weeks first week was 5 pounds then last week was 1
Now I was dis heartened because you eat healthy but the scales don't show but I also been lifting heavy and muscle is more denser than fat one big indication is how clothes are fitting on you and how you feel, hopefully in the right direction

Ok so dropped down to 1700 today based on getting my TDEE completely wrong...its 13:37 and Im starving...dont plan on blowing out or anything...I am still staggering my meals, but carbs are non existant other than my broccoli...back and biceps this morning and this day above all makes me most hungry, dont know why.
Grabbed some steak for tonight so looking forward to that...will keep me focussed as Im heading out to Superman Man of Steel this evening so I will leave town straight after the film in case of fast food indulgence and just have the steak...
Is is time for grub yet? Im sitting at my office desk and although my work plods on...i count down the hours to my next meal...ladies and gentleman...welcome to cutting! :0(

Well done on your weight loss! It might just be that you've hit a plateau, so maybe mix up your gym routine. I think we go to the same gym, I've only just started getting serious about exercise though so am not really in shape, but I got a great workout review done by one of the instructors and we came up with a weight lifting workout plan so maybe talk to one of them.

I just don't even know why you'd make a thread about your weight loss and how it wasn't working, then go ahead and eat things like that - I am all for having treats now and again but what a joke.

This was booked in with the boys for a loooong time...I have never eaten like this in one sitting before...totally a one off! It does seem backward for me to moan then eat this but I have been on point everyday so far since starting (given its only 9 days) and fully intend to go back to normal...

Now i am inside identical fishing boat already been diet right now for above two weeks primary week had been 5 pounds after that last week had been 1
Currently I had been dis heartened as you take nutritious but the weighing machines never show nevertheless I been weightlifting large and muscle mass is a lot more denser than excess fat just one major indicator is precisely how apparel usually are size done to you and how we feel, ideally inside appropriate direction.

So...hit the gym this morning for back and biceps day...and OMG...160Kg deadlift...smashed my PB out the park...this was for 4 reps but could feel my legs giving out...which i have never had before...but please with the efforts. I had read on here that its better to step up the weights so i did:
60kg x 5
80kg x 5
100kg x 5
130kg x 5
160kg x 4
Really really pleased with this...though I thought I was gonna feint after rep 4 so had to sit down...after that...the rest of my workout was done with a much higher intensity...Not sure if the VPX is kicking in more but Im certainly improving still on only 1700kcals!18/06/2013 - 238lbs - 107.9Kg

Ok so weighted in this morning and no change, been a crap week but Im aware of the issues and this will be rectified this week.
Trained legs today and I just wanna rip my calves off as they ache so much already! I never really take a count of what I do, i just push it until my legs are so weak that they just shake uncontrollably! I also train each leg individually on leg extension and leg curl machine as I have a big issue with my right leg being bigger (only slightly) than my left leg...I have had severe left knee pains in the past (patellar tracking issues) so my right leg always dominates and in my head ive convinced myself this is the only way to rectify it! Squats arent a big issue, but I have to concentrate just to make sure!
Anyway, aiming for 2lbs loss minimum next week!18/06/2013 - 238lbs - 107.9Kg

Sorry that was me being confusing...for example
DB BP (each DB) – 10kg x 8 reps, 34kg x 6 reps, 34kg x 6 reps, 34kg x 6 reps...so 4 sets there...
So basically in the format of 'kg x reps'...ive always jotted it down like this and was in auto-pilot when i wrote the post...though i would like to manage 60 sets18/06/2013 - 238lbs - 107.9Kg
