70 pounds lost but a lot more to go!

Well I have been heavy all my life and unfortunately learned my eating habits from my parents who are both overweight. Last fall I started going to a junior college and decided I was sick of the way I look and feel and wanted to get healthy. I started this journey at 420 pounds. At 6'4 I feel I could be happy at around 220 and being muscular. Even being 300+ pounds in high school I always played sports and spent time in the gym but my calorie intake was out of control. So here I am 10 months later and 70 pounds lighter but my weight loss has started to slow down. To get to this point I have been eating between 2000-2300 calories everyday and keeping my carbs below 100g. While I don't know if this is the best way to lose weight I do know it lets me eat what I enjoy most ( meat and veggies ) and has been working for me. I have recently started walking 2-3 miles everyday but don't have access to a gym close by right now. September 1st I will be moving back in with the parents and will have a gym about a block away.

Like I said right now I am eating 2000-2300 calories a day and keeping my carbs below 100g. I also take Double X from nutralite once a day.

I could really use help with some exercises I could start doing now or anything I can change in my diet to help speed up my weight loss. I would love to be below 250 before I transfer to a 4 year college next fall so I will do what ever it takes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Sunday I took my Dad out to eat for Father's Day and ate around 3k calories and also a lot more carbs than I would normally. Showed on the scale this morning weighing 351. I know it isn't actual fat so I hope if I have a couple good days it all drops back off.

Today I hit the low end of my daily targets and got a 2 mile walk in even though it's 90 degrees. Today is the first day of going 2 weeks straight without going over 100g of carbs a day. Normally I give myself one cheat day where I stay within my calorie goals but eat closer to 200g of Carbs but not gonna do that for a few weeks and see how my body reacts.

Been a good week so far. Stayed within my macro's everyday and gotten 30 minutes of Cardio three times so far this week. I am going to start weighing in every Sunday morning and updating my current stats.

On another good note I picked up a digital food scale today. I have been using a crappy line one so I think this will help get my numbers even more where they need to be. Got a tape also to start taking measurements and plan on taking those on Sundays as well.

Thanks! Good job on your loss also!

Today was a pretty good day. Normally on Saturday's I don't stick to my macros very well. I spent three hours this morning loading and unloading bags of grocery's that my church gives away to needy families once a month. Was good cardio and kept my heart rate up for at least the last hour and a half nonstop. I haven't had many carbs this week and I was craving them when I got home at 11am so I made a frozen pizza. I ended up eating the entire thing I was so hungry. Good thing it only came out to 1460 Cals. I am gonna try and get an hour or so walk in here tonight once it cools down and hopefully it won't affect my weigh in day tomorrow.

Well I started watching my macro's more and getting them where they need to be. Not keeping carbs as low as I was I have had energy to go for a walk everyday. When I was cutting carbs way back I had no energy and dreaded going for walks.

Even though I ate a whole pizza yesterday I still stayed under my calorie goal. Worst part was I doubled my normal sodium intake for the day doing that. I feel bloated today but I am assuming that is just excess water. Went for a walk last night and this morning to try and burn some of it off.

Official Sunday Weigh-In was at 344.6. This puts me at 9.4 lbs lost in 2 weeks.

Going to assume some of that is water weight because based on my calculations I am eating at a 1200 calorie deficit and burning 300 calories from cardio every day that I didn't figure in to my numbers. That would put me at 3 pounds per week. I am going to try and do 3 pounds a week until I am below 300 pounds and then cut back to 2 pounds a week.

Well I got a new S4 so now I can use the MFP app and the Nike+ app to keep track of my calories and my walking distances / times. Sunday weigh in at 345, went up .6 pounds according to scale but I lost a half of an inch off my waist, and a little bit off my stomach at navel and my chest. Been feeling bloated the last few days so gonna assume I am holding more water than normal.

Was a good week overall. Stayed within my calories everyday and got 14.2 miles walked for cardio. With the app I am working on improving my mile walk time. Right now I am running about 18 mins a mile and want to get it down to 15 soon.
Still a month and a half away from moving which will put me in walking distance from a gym. Will be good to get back into lifting as I always enjoyed it in HS.

I have been working 60+ hours a week and starting to pack up to move so it has been hard to stick to the diet 100%. Still showing some progress. Weigh in this morning at 341.2 lbs. Was 2009 last time I was below 340 so looking forward to that. I have lost 13 lbs in a little over a month so I guess I am right on track. I know if I would have stuck to the diet a little better I would have better results though.

Haven't been able to do much cardio but spending 8 hours a day on my feet at the shop has been helping. Prior to this I had been sitting on my ass at home most of the day. Will be working this schedule until I go back to school at the end of August.

Awesome job on the weight loss so far! I've lost about 67 pounds so far, and am keeping pace with about 1-2lbs a week. Keep up the great work, even though you may not be able to stick to the diet 100% due to moving/work, at least you're still watching what you're eating, meaning you'll most likely make healthy choices. Just keep working at it, and it will come.
    Starting weight: 280lbs
    End of cut weight: 174lbs
    Total loss: 106lbs
    End of bulk: 184-186
