Because I support people's right to live their lives as they see fit, while also encouraging them to renounce, repent, and join the church. It's called freedom.

The Bible points out that same-sex relations are not a frivolous recreation as it was considered 2000 years ago, but the same thing as extra-marital sex, which is a sin. There is nothing special about the genders involved. That was the point being made, not that homosexual activity was especially bad.

Exactly, the special mention was required because society did not view it as the same sort of thing. I.E. If you had sex with your gym buddy, it wasn't the same thing as cheating on your wife with a woman, so clarification was required.
