Protein bars? Need low fiber / low sugar alcohols

Hey guys, never really posted in the nutrition portion but felt this would be the best place.

Any recommendations on proteins bars that are easily digested? I find that a lot of them are loaded with sugar alcohols which causes an upset stomach or super high fiber!

Basically I'm looking for a candy bar with some extra protein!!! Would like to just eat snickers & drink some whey but not very convenient in my situation.

    Thanks for any help!

As this is your first time in nut forum, I will warn you that the general consensus is probably going be along the lines of "don't waste your money on protein bars".

    he said low fibre haha

OP wherever you are you could just take a gander through the labels. One of the first examples I could think of are oh yeah bars http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/cal...carbs-45490816. also the bsn bars http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/cal...etzel-34730045. or you could look online for your instructions on making your own protein bars that fit your needs

    Haha I appreciate the warning

I dont typically spend the extra $ on protein bars but for now I dont mind because I'm looking for convenience.

I am an amature bodybuilder and need some extra macros to hit without upsetting my stomach

so far I think detour and jims permalean are the two that might work.

curious: what's wrong with super high fiber? other than gas, which is really more of a hidden bonus than a problem...

try making your own protein bars? i've seen a few easy recipes out there...most have crazy high fat, but if that's your thing: give it a shot

I buy these "Life Choice" brand protein bars from Wal-Mart. They are only like $3 or $4 for a box of 6 I think (They're cheaper than any "name brands" anyway). They are in the grocery section with like the Special K protein bars, etc...I think the macros are ok...210 Cals/8g Fat/14g Carb/1g Fiber/7g Sugar/21g Protein & the Peanut Butter ones taste pretty good...

I'm sure you just read her articles, right?

    I kid, of course.

Seriously though, her recipes are good. She does use a lot of artificial sweeteners, though, which might be an issue with OP's digestive issues.

    Low fiber

I have to eat a low fiber diet due to digestive disease and prior colon surgery.

Sometimes I need a quick snack and was hoping for recommendations. I’ve tried googling low fiber Protein bar recipes without luck. Does anyone have suggestions? Looking for 3 grams at most

These are the only ones I eat:
    https://shop.perfectbar.com/products...-peanut-butter

17 grams of protein is pretty good for a bar, especially one that tastes good, although 4 grams of fiber may be a lot for you. Otherwise there are no artificial ingredients.
