    "Unhealthy" vs "Healthy" foods.

I would really love to see some cold hard evidence that this mythological "unhealthy" food exists. There is no such thing as unhealthy or healthy foods...only unhealthy or healthy diets. On top of that everybody stresses so much about a "perfect macronutrient split" when it doesn't exist. Here's a tip, your body is great at adapting to whatever you put into it.

We have fitness gurus who have put this to the test eating a diet consisting of 100% fast food + supplementing micronutrients and fiber. Their bodycomposition and health improved.

I have personally experimented by both gaining and losing weight eating a diet consisting of up to 75% take out and making sure to supplement enough fiber. High carbs, Moderate fats, and Moderate protein seems to be the best macro intake leaving me feeling the most energetic in the gym.

The only reason you think that eating 300g protein daily of "clean" chicken brown rice and broccoli is "healthy" is because every musclemag juicer you have seen claimed to eat that way with the goal of selling you more protein powder.

No such thing as unhealthy. Just a word that fat people use because they're fat. Anything can be "healthy" as long as it fits in your macros.

unprocessed foods usually have more volume and are more satiating. Certain things you can eat a chit ton of and hit your macros, some processed food you can eat very little. Quit trying to be a smart ass and do whatever you prefer. Besides trans fat there are pretty much no unhealthy foods without looking at the overall context of your diet. Also there are other things to consider regarding food besides body composition such as carcinogens and things like antibiotics in your meat.

Also any argument based off a sample size of 1 is fuking stupid.

Eating clean is better for you in the long-run brah.

    Brb healthier skin,
    Brb looking younger
    Brb feeling better... etc

It's tough but honestly worth it.

But for your stats I really do see why you should be preaching (I say that in the nicest way possible).

Can you get fat from eating steamed vegetables? Not really unless you eat a lot. Can you get fat from eating fast food? Easily. Therefore steamed vegetables are more healthy. What you said is true, but when you apply real life to this, all foods that taste good, are easily available, and have high caloric density become unhealthy.

I personally find it easier to eat extremely caloric dense foods to gain weight. I don't have the appetite or stomach size to eat 3k calories a day in whole foods. I've tried it and it was torture. Even when cutting, I'm satiated on 1900 calories regardless of what source those calories came from. When I get below 1800 is when I start having hunger pains and lethargy.

So many miscers are deathly afraid of anything not deemed "whole" or "healthy".

You left the self-control part out of it. I'll get just as fat eating 3000 calories of chicken (and not lifting) as I would from eating 3000 calories of mcdoubles

I love pizza. If you took all the ingredients separately you would call it a well balanced meal.

    Bread.
    Cheese.
    Meat.
    Vegetables.

are we talking about losing weight and dropping bodyfat here or are we talking about actual health?

pretty sure there is evidence that fruits > donuts, grilled chicken > fried chicken for your health

its detrimental to losing weight cause "unhealthy" foods are higher calorie/carb and less filling, not to mention the lack of nutritional value, sodium etc

Foods containing Trans fats have been proven to be detrimental to your health. Your argument is thus invalid.

Healthy is something that's good for your health and well being, ie foods that contain a lot of micro nutrients and/or phytonutrients

Unhealthy foods have little nutrients, trans fats and other crap that is not good for you. Basically empty calories

    rat poison

    edible

    not very healthy\

but in all seriousness of course you have to look at context of overall diet. Let's assume overall diet is emaculate

unhealthy foods would be any junk food\fast food\pop really
because of the chemicals, additives, etc

But assuming we're not retards, the difference between a healthy food and unhealthy food where people can stop crying about the word "clean" is something nutrient dense, whole, organic, no additives..etc

    Has lots of fiber content..

People need to quit nitpicking over the little things like someone saying " I eat clean " you understand what that means.. it means they eat mostly nutritious food and probably avoid the worse stuff.

Only reason I eat "healthy" food is because I can eat a lot more of it than I can unhealthy food and it doesn't make me crave other things.

eating to get big and shredded does not have to mean eating healthy. Eating to get aesthetics is focused on macronutrients for the most part. If you want to eat as healthy as possible then you need to look at more than just fat, carbs, protein, and occasionally sodium

OP you do understand that there are artificial fats which are present in certain foods to extend shelf life!
The body can't break down those fats and there are health effects which arise due to the consumption of those fats!

There are trillions of chemical reactions going off in the body by the second....do you really think that what you eat has nothing to with how this all functions? There is more to life than just aesthetics, brah.

Losing weight is all about calories in vs calories out. Being healthy is a totally different idea. I'm sure all those added chemicals in fast food make it very good for your body (notsrs.) Take a biology course and you'll understand you're eating **** served with a side of ****.

yes you can, the only reason it seems like what you stated is because veg doesn't contain a lot of calories for the amount but fast food does, if you ate 5k cals worth of steamed veg and 5k cals worth of fast food you would still get fat if you didn't train etc.

I would really love to see some cold hard evidence that this mythological "unhealthy" food exists.

are you aware of what 5k calories of vegetables looks like?

edit: I'll do the math so you dont have to

1 tomato is about 149grams, has 27 calories

    27cal ------- 149g
    5000cal ------ x

    x = 2759g = 2,8kg
