Awesome to hear. Definitely going to sub to a contest prep thread if you have one. But in regards to questions though, so here you are at 36 lbs. over stage weight. Are you planning on gaining more body weight? or have you reached a point where you're now just maintaining that weight while adding strength? Curious to hear, because I'm sort of at a "peak of bulk" body weight at the moment as well

So what are the final thoughts on this thread?

I have a show in 6 days and then another one 26 days after that and planning on reverse dieting throughout the winter!

Do you recommend adding in carbs and calories or is it not worth it after doing your log?

    Thanks!

My final thoughts are overall good, I still put on lots of fat in the end, but at least it wasn't in the first 2 months (or weeks) after my comps. I've been bulking solid for a year and a half now and put on about 37 pounds, strength has improved very well.

I've pretty much been eating what I want and haven't turned down any meals out either so mission accomplished there too.

What I've learned is to test your limits from an established baseline, increasing up macro's by feel and tracking on the scale. It's trail and error.

Do you mean adding calories in now before your show and then increasing in the 26 days till the next one? I would definitely do this If you are completely shredded already. There's no point over dieting if you're already there, plus it looks better to be fuller most cases.

    General question:

How do you suggest to bulk after a long cut? Gradual pyramid from your lowest calories cutting until maintenance?

Assuming you knew what your maintenance was, going straight back to that was fine for me. You'll put on a few lbs short term but then it should stabilize if it actually is maintenance.

Ease into it like a hot tub. And be sure to have fun with it. Sometimes we forget we lift weights because we enjoy it.
