    I'm getting wrinkles!

I'm turning 30 in a few months and the wrinkles have started.

    Some I don't mind, some I do.

Does anyone use any wrinkle cream or any fancy face creams for that kind of thing? I only use aveeno right now after a shower... Otherwise I don't put anything on my face. What do you guys use, have you seen results?

I started putting eye cream on at night in my 30s and have pretty much prevented any deep wrinkles in my face up to this point. What I think really makes the difference though is sunscreen every day; I started doing that at your age. Most of my friends wear an 8 or 10 SPF on vacation in Arizona or Florida and I think they're crazy because I wear a 50 every day; they all have deep facial wrinkles and I don't.

Sunscreen everyday for prevention of more wrinkles.

Moisturizer should help them not look so deep. I have heard good things about Retinol. They have better Retinol than you can buy at the local drug store. I think I have .30 from my aesthetician. This website is helpful on Retinol:

    http://www.retinolskincare.org/types.php

I don't really have wrinkles yet but I think it's mainly due to wearing sunscreen, not tanning my face and seeing an aesthetician for years for microdermabrasion, chemical peels etc. There are more aggressive ways to get rid of wrinkles than creams if you are willing to pay the money.

the oil cleansing method leaves the skin really moisturized and plumps out lines. It leaves a nice glow, too. You basically massage your face with an oil blend (castor, jojoba, etc) and take off with a hot cloth, and that's it. You can also touch a bit of oil (emu or argan is great for this) to tiny wrinkles and it softens/ plumps them a bit.

BHA on open pores and wrinkles at night works miracles. It is basically a chemical exfoliator. Paula's Choice makes awesome BHA products and you can order unlimited sample sizes so you can make sure it works before buying full size. Their BHA 9 and BHA lotion are awesome. Their sunscreens are great, too. You'd need to wear sunblock during the day if doing the beta hydroxy acids at night.

Not sure how much of a do it yourself-er you are, but makeupartistschoice.com has some great chemical peels you can do at home, they always run discounts/ promos on their site, too.

And x2 on the retinol. That would be the next step of the OTC stuff isn't doing it. Definitely spf 50 in the days if doing the retinol.

I use Avon Rejuvenate day moisturizer and night moisturizer. The day stuff has SPF 25 and the night has retinol. I absolutely love it.

They have several varieties for different age groups, but the one I use is for 30s. This is the day, the night stuff is a blue sparkly jelly.

Oh I AM enjoying this epic adventure already. I am REALLY loving the pubes down to my knees. The BEST.

I slapped on that sunscreen and I will make sure to use it daily. Regardless, I think I got burnt though... I will get some retinol. Never botox though... They are nowhere NEAR that. I spend very little time in the evil sun because I burn so easily, so hopefully that helps..

That, and avoiding the sun, avoiding alcohol, and avoiding smoking. Eat some leafy greens and drink plenty of water, and clean your skin 2x a day!

Honestly, that will prevent all the damage that creams cannot possibly fix. It is important to moisturize and protect your skin, yes, but you needn't spend heaps and heaps of money doing so. Creams are pretty much all alike, but for how they feel on your skin. I don't like greasy feeling creams. I like a lotion for day time, and a cream for night time. I like an SPF for daytime too - all year round. I ignore the ridiculous claims and buy what feels good on my skin. I also like to switch it up - I get bored of skincreams, just as I get bored of handbags. I love Kinerase's Protherapy MD, and I also love Estee Lauder's Daywear (I love how it feels on my skin and I love that cucumber fragrance!).

There are some products that will offer a nice little quick fix. Kinerase Face Lift is dandy, but I don't use it everyday, as its effects tend to wear off by midday. Nanoblur is awesome too! You can get it for about $20 at Shoppers Drug Mart, and it actually does blur those little lines you're beginning to see.

But those little gems can't fix everything, no cream can. As we age we lose volume in our faces. We all have naturally present hyaluronic acid in our faces, and that thins with time. At the same time, our outer layers of skin are thickening, and that gives us the sagging look - jowls and marionette lines. The only thing to fix that is filler. But you are decades away from that point, I am sure.

In the meantime, cleanse and exfoliate (I love the Clarisonic MIA brush and CeraVe foaming facial wash), and moisturize. You'll be fine.
No drama: You know where we are.

Botox is so taboo. I'm not sure why? It is very safe. I'm all for it. I'm interested to hear why some of the gals are so against it. Also what about facial hairs? I'm noticing as I age this is becoming more prominent. Little ones pop up on my chin and on the jaw line. I pluck them all out but it sure is time consuming. What do you gals do?

Is this where the (in)appropriate, "The wife takes care of my wrinkles." statement goes???

All I know is the Derm says sunscreen should be worn all the time. For a wide variety of good reasons. It's a difficult habit to get into when you've never worn any...

I started wearing sunscreen as a teen and in my 30's now... A lot of U.S sunscreens are inferior btw; the Euro and Japanese ones are superior. Its not just about SPF but also PPD... I used to buy my SS from Europe exclusively... La Roche Posay but the Euro formulations; La Roche Posay Anthelios SX is ok too available in the U.S... If you are using something with SPF 10 it probably has shiet PPD and it's probably not doing you any favors. Just a fyi... Google PPD and sunscreen. Euro companies that make decent ss; LRP, Bioderma... Some people also prefer a physical sunscreen vs chemical.

I always use Vit C serum underneath my sunscreen as well; studies have shown that it makes your sunscreen 8x more effective (tests were done with Skinceuticals CE Ferulic). That's the one I used to use but now I use Ole Henriksen... I started using Vit C and Retin A in my 20's already to prevent wrinkles. At night I use retinoids combined with AHA.

I'm 35 now and have zero wrinkles around my eyes, forehead etc... not even fine lines... i have nasolabial folds but they aren't wrinkles; more from my bigger cheeks (I'm under 100lbs, just have bigger cheeks).

Botox is not taboo at all. It can actually prevent further wrinkles and used as a preventative measure...

"Botox is most effective on wrinkles that haven’t quite set -- “dynamic” wrinkles that appear while you’re moving your face, such as when you frown. “If you don’t move the muscle too much, you won’t form the wrinkle,” says Columbia University dermatologist Monica Halem, MD. She considers Botox preventive."

It's not needed for me since I don't have eye or forehead wrinkles whatsoever and probably won't for another 10 years I think... Asian genetics and using the best skincare all my life. If I had eye wrinkles or forehead ones I would consider it for sure.

Agree with the sunscreen comments. I haven't sun tanned my face in 20 years and I have very few lines.

Sunscreen (high factor) hat and shades. ALWAYS. :-)

Smoking is also bad for wrinkles, I'm told.

Most, not all, women of a certain age - 40s 50s - don't discuss Botox or other biologics or fillers or other procedures. But young women, 20s, 30s, have no problem discussing them! The younger, less inhibited generation.

Just popping in to say I'm glad my ancestral culture encourages staying out of the sun. I've never consciously become tan and never will.

Also, good to know fitting wrinkles will become a new segment to my beauty regiment in about 10 years. Not. As if there weren't enough things already!

I'm 30 and really starting to get the wrinkles around my eyes because when I smile and laugh, my eyes really squinch up...so I'm not so sure if I used anything on them if it would do any good...I'd just keep adding more lines, LOL.

I've asked hubs about doing the Botox sort of things and he didn't seem too excited, lol. Not sure if that's not just him being a good husband

Meh, I have an expressive face and everything wrinkles, lol. But I happen to love laugh lines and eye crinkles, so no biggie. People who try to erase ALL the wrinkles on their face tend to look kind of soulless to me. Very odd.

Wrinkles come out for a combination of factors, for sure, but I'm giving another vote for sunscreen. The foundation I've worn for the best part of 10 years has SPF 10 (Lancome Teint Idole Ultra). I don't use moisturisers or anything else, and my age is almost always underestimated. I also don't drink or smoke, do eat well and all those other contributing factors. I laugh a lot though, so I'm looking out for those lines!

I'm actually ok with the wrinkles I have now. The crinkly laugh lines and all that. I am just looking for preventative measures for what's to come. I don't wear make-up or anything like that... I exfoliate, use toner and use a cream after I shower in the evenings. I use Aveeno, so it's cheap stuff that I use. I do tend to break out very easily. I don't like oily feeling creams either.

I don't smoke or tan (Red-head hates the sun) I do drink a lot of water and I drink some alcohol.

So I need to find some quality cream with an spf in it, possibly a day cream and a night cream. Do you guys apply regular sunscreen to your face as well?
