I posted this in the homemade equip thread a few weeks back, but figured I'd share it with everyone else too lol.
I've tested it with 7 45's on each side and it lifted them with ease, and with hardly any effort on my part.
It is made from 1" galvanized schedule 40 pipe, painted with some rustoleum, and the bar cup/holder is covered in spray on rustoleum rubber sealant (as to not scratch the bar)
Part list:
two 3" nipples
2" nipple
12" nipple
3 tees
1 elbow
1 cap
I cut the bar holder with a bandsaw and ground down and rounded the edges and threads with a angle grinder.
All said it costs roughly $30 to make unpainted, I used free paint from work, so it made it easy to paint (and they had the colors i needed to match my rack lol).

Very nice!
Had a small idea for a little tweak.
If one were to use a reducing tee for the bar holder, like a 2"x1"x2", one could fit a 2" PVC pipe cut in half inside as a liner for protecting the knurling.

lol, or if you have a cheap angle grinder, you can use a cut off wheel (carefully, as they LOVE to fly apart)
and thanks for all the compliments/reps allI'm glad you guys like the idea. I personally like it, as almost anyone can make it (hell the most it takes for tools is a cheap angle grinder, a $30-40 tool and you have all you need to make it)

White_UHMWPE_Tube.jpg I'm guessing PVC will be just fine. It is afterall fully cradled/supported by the pipe tee.
A theoretically even better option would be UHMW PE-tubing. A quick search produced this:

UHMWPE_Tube
There must be local US suppliers (plastics, bearings, et.al.) that carry similar stuff though.
Cheers

Good job mate. A DL jack is such a great piece of equipment to own, I don't know how I managed without mine. Repsicles en route to your CP.
"You need a power rack, a bench, a 300lb weight set, and a deadlift jack." should be the equipment forum motto. My training log:

A 300 lbs set usually only has one pair of 45, making the use deadlift jack less needed. Where it really comes into play is when you already have at least one 45 on each end and want to add another while keeping the plates tight together and if you have 3 or more 45s on each side getting another one on is a PITA without a jack. I'm not there yet and probably never will get there, but I still have a jack for adding the 2 or 3 45 to a side, makes it easier.

I was skeptical at first too. I used 3/4" pipe as the Home Depot I went to didn't have enough 1/2". The 3/4" is very sturdy. But of course logically 1" would be even sturdier. I totally get why you'd want 1". Might cost $4-5 more in the end but so much stronger. Given what you did with the cutting, I don't imagine anything smaller than 1" would work as the groove, that makes contact with the barbell, would be too narrow.
