Sucks about all the divorce ITT. It also sucks to hear that the womenz are taking ppl for a financial ride when it's all said and done. That's not fair. I will never understand how people think they're entitled to someone else's stuff when they didn't earn it themselves. Women want to be taken care of, sure, but you also have to look at yourself in the mirror every day. That's upsetting.

Sort of similar situation here. I moved into a small one bedroom apt immediately after we separated and was paying for both my apt and the house. When my lawyer was dragging her feet (and charging me boku bucks) I fired her and finished the divorce settlement myself. I tossed the house away in exchange of having to pay alimony (would have been 5-6 years of spousal support, no thanks jeff). Now I'm in rebuild mode but don't have the shackles of an ex swiping dollars out of my paycheck every month.
Not going to happen. Starts the relationship with a distrust (like interviewing for a job and asking "how many days notice do I need to give when I quit") and like dbone mentioned, it only protects things you bring into the marriage - anything earned during the marriage is fair game.
Instead of the prenup - do what Vaughan and Starkk said - make sure it's the right person. Really make sure.
It's good stuff. I use it from time to time.

Divorce isn't a word in my vocabulary. It would take something pretty serious for me to even consider it.
I got married for a reason, and if i do get divorced, i dont forsee getting re-married. I promised myself it would only happen once. Hence why it took 5 years before I proposed to my now wife.
No swipe at those that did it, i know its merely personal choice, and don't take it as a swipe, just I don't forsee me and my wife ever getting to that point. We have issues, but we know that we wanna grow old together. Too many couples jump ship too early these days.
My grandma told me, "I grew up in a time when something was broke you fixed it, you didn't just toss it away". Those are the words i apply to marriage. Of course, it only works if the other person is willing to do the same.Last edited by TMac26; 05-02-2013 at 07:15 AM.

I personally am against divorce, I have been married for nearly 11 years and have no regrets. However, I think once you bring kids into the equation things change. The worst thing for kids is to be in a household where there is constant fighting/tension. If the parents can't reconcile their issues then I actually think it can do more harm then good to just stay married for the sake of the kids.

Yea I think at that point it wouldn't be healthy for the kids. After our little was born the wife and I made a promise never to argue in front of Aubrey. We still don't to this day. We might have "tiffs" but we've realized that since she is around us so much, by the time we get to around talking about why we were mad, we have already forgotten and it doesn't matter anymore.Krispy Kreme Krew Forever.
