Felt pretty good to take a day off from training today..
Woke up and had a pretty good morning tbh. Today was my first day ON the bike in over a week and a half and I absolutely SMOKED the road today. This replacement bike is really blowing my mind, I bought it when I was ~130lbs and an inch shorter so it "fit" me, and I haven't used it since (over a year or two).. I went on it today and it felt like I was literally driving a porche. lmao. I had no idea I could maneuver a bike like this.. felt so comfortable and tight. Climbing was practically effortless today and I was able to do repeats like I've never done before. To be honest I miss my old bike, but the part should be in soon.
No word yet from the gym..
They said they'd call everyone today (whether you got the job or not) which is kind of discouraging to me. As I said in last nights log post.. I'm leaning more towards the bike shop more than anything right now. But I'd still like to get the news and see if I did indeed get it.
Decided to do something out of the ordinary tonight and I went to McDonalds for the first time in seriously half a decade...
Oh lord I missed those fries! After that we went to the mall and browsed for a bit and I'm back home now doing some stretching + cooking for tomorrow.

Sorry if it looked like I was being sarcastic, I wasn't. I hadn't been tuning in on the topic as of lately so I was confused what your best squat was. All in all, keep up the good progress. By the way those quads are insane!

Awesome about the bike shop job offer, that sounds right up your alley!
I hear ya on not getting the callback when you expected it. It seems places always take way longer to get back to you even when they give you a certain date.
Good to hear the replacement bike felt good, tearing up the road as always!
Oh lawd, McDs

Gotta have a GIF for everything brother!
Used to grab quarter pounders back in the day!
Oh no worries! Thanks for the kind words!
Was going to ask you how yours is going Woody. Seems like our potential job offers are lagging pretty badly right now.
Hopefully yours picks up brother.
Keep training hard!

fingers crossed for the job dude, sucks waiting. Super rude when places don't call you back at all when they say they will. The double standard for how employers/job applicants are expected to behave is bullsh*t

Yeah man, I hate it. But it is what it is I guess, if they don't call me today... I'll probably head in tomorrow and ask.
Yeah it's an all time low. I'm likely floating around 174-175lbs (considering my weigh-ins are usually after my training + water loss/glycogen depletion)

Another "off day" from training...
GF went up north to work like she usually does on saturdays, so I had the day to myself. Had quite a good morning, decided to start my ride a bit earlier than normal. I'm toying with the idea of just taking weekends completely off from training, not really sure.. or just training saturdays and taking friday + sundays off. There are a few various cycling groups that ride those days, so I'd probably hit them up and start racing semi-competitively.. which would be loads of fun. So, that being said.. a 5 day program would be best IMO. But I still have quite some time to think about it.
----
The ride went absolutely AMAZING today!
Not a ton of climbing, I decided to give my legs a bit of a break and head to the beach to get some wind and some much needed air. It was good to ride an old route that I USED to take all the time.. Just night and day difference in how fast I am, and how powerful I feel going down the same streets/hills/etc that were once difficult in my mind. I never would've imagined that I'd feel the way I do on the bike. It's truly a euphoric feeling that I'll never really be able to explain...
-----
The highlight of the day was cooking dinner for my GFs ENTIRE family..
I've cooked dinner for MY family before and my GF. But 9 people? Really? I was so anxious about everyone liking everything.. but I have to say.. I'm quite proud of myself, felt REALLY damn good to have everyone say that they enjoyed everything and that they liked what I made...There minds were even MORE blown when they found out that the "brownies" were made out of BLACK BEANS! (Yet they still tasted amazing and had the exact same macros as normal brownies lmao).
The Spread:
- Garlic Chicken Thighs + Drumsticks
- Oven Fried Garlic Potatoes
- Mexican Taco Salad
- Black Bean Chocolate Chip Brownies
Today = Total Success!
And my Interview at the bike shop is on monday!
Got the call + email today! Couldn't be any more excited!

In! Great cutting progress so far here dude. I was just wondering do you ever take rest days, like without no gym or cardio, and if you don't, why not? And how on earth do you have time to do +3 hour rides almost daily, would never have time for those and then top that with gym session haha. Don't you think those rides are affecting your training negatively? Again just wondering, no negative speak or anything.
