Reps to any NJ brahs who commute to NYC for work.

A couple months ago, I left my job on the Upper East Side as a paralegal - for a multitude of reasons. It was a very, very small firm and my boss was a humongous fuking bitch, very abusive, but most of all stopped paying me on time and seemed to do it randomly.

Regardless of that, the commute to NYC was a nightmare. I guess being UES instead of right by Penn Station or the PATH makes it worse, but good god I'm glad I did that so I now know going forward that working in NYC was not for me. It wasn't just the commute either. Before working in the city, if you had asked me I would've said I liked NYC. I would take the train in to go out to eat or go drinking with friends sometimes. But nope, boy was I wrong.

Usually more. I don't mean to complain because I'm definitely not a city person - some people are, some people aren't. But that part DEFINITELY sucked.

I'm from Hawthorne, but luckily I live right by our train station. The drive there would only be about 2 minutes. But Hawthorne to Secaucus station, Secaucus to NY Penn, walking from NY Penn to the 6 line, and then taking the 6 up to 86th all in all would take me about 2hr 15min to 2hr 30min each way, if nothing went wrong. And of course, with NJ Transit, something is always wrong.

UES is pretty cheap (compared to the rest of manhattan) if you wanted to rent there

NJ to Manhattan isn't that bad depending on where you live.

Jersey City/Hoboken have a good commute going into most parts of Manhattan except for UES

I'm not working there anymore, but you sure about that anyway? I was doing real estate law so I saw a lot of transactions and UES seemed fuking insane.

Regardless, the city is NOT for me. I'm working in Paramus right now and loving it.

love jersey but the dense population and commute makes me want to kill myself.

have to get out and try living somewhere else for a while just so I don't lose my sanity, thought about Cali, in the Not so dense parts. I live in NC for 10 years, and hated the boredom, so need to find something in the middle. Boston I loved.

I would have thought I hate cities based on my distaste for NYC, but maybe it's just NYC. Boston is a bit of a far cry from New York, but I still would've thought a city is a city. There's just a small town feel to it in some ways I guess.

I made a thread about this, but now that I see this thread, maybe you guys can give better input.

I made a fake Chad POF account a little while back, based out of Brooklyn, and the vast majority of messages that fake Chad gets is from the NJ area (Hoboken, Jersey City, Newark, Bergen, etc. areas near Manhattan). Brooklyn is in close proximity to NJ, so it kinda makes sense, but sloots in Brooklyn/Queens/Manhattan should be the majority of messages, no?

Can anybody who lives/lives in the NYC area confirm that Jersey girls are slootier, more down to date/hook-up? This message trend leads me to believe that women in Brooklyn/Queens/Manhattan are trying to catch themselves a CEO, Actor, Investment Banker, Pro-Athlete, (insert successful male that NYC is full of), so they are less likely to give an average guy the time of the day unless he is seriously balling (even if she is a 5/10 herself). Whereas a girl from anywhere else, or NJ is more suburban, and has lower standards for dating, or is bored in the countryside and is hornier/wants to hook up. Thats my hypothesis.

I don't really know much about making fake POF accounts or anything but there are an enormous amount of girls who are fresh out of college living in Hoboken and the Jersey City area and that might play into it. They're just getting out of college, where they were hooking up casually, so it's not that much of a far cry to keep doing that. I'm sure a lot of college girls live in the boroughs too but I feel like not as high of a percentage, at least based on all the people I know.

    reply to above.

Girls are slootier depends where you go. But if they live in jc, hoboken by themselves, I'd say they are more likely sloots.

I know plenty of girls who graduated who went to live back home, and go out to hoboken, but don't sloot it up

I drive in from garfield and it takes me an hour or so.
Train was about the same time as you fuk that noise.

Is this thread still a thing? I might move out by Lakehurst so I scoped out the area and there looks like there's nothing to do out there. Can anyone confirm?

used to live out in Morristown, living in jersey city these days. Morristown is great for going out to bars and meeting girls, it can get told after a while of going to the same bars, but it's a nice place, you'll have a lot of fun in the area. Looks a lot different than when I lived there 4-5 years ago. Did you move alone, or do you have friends in the area?
If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary
