I have a low IQ and need more help.
Which USPS option would be cheapest and how should I package it? I have poly mailers but all three don't fit. I also have flat rate boxes but a calculator said it would be like $12.
Can I put each one in its own bag and tape them all together really well? (Probably a stupid ass question, I didn't even know how to mail a letter till this year)Balls dangle lower than my dick crew

For the noobs who read the import/export thread, got excited and got linked to this thread:
Please read the old thread and read this thread first. The last thing you want is to do something stupid like spend 1k on phone cases. Most questions have been answered too. good luck, tons of money to be made if you do it right.

If you have bubble wrap then use that and put them in a shoe box if you'd like but make sure the shirts won't get dirty.
If you don't have bubble wrap then use something else but do try to cover them up.
You can also make your own box if you have cardboard or even a larger box around your house.
If you're still having trouble shipping them then go to the post office and have them package it for you but be ready to pay some premium.
Good luck.

I'm very interested in refurbishing iphones/smartphones and using parts from overseas to fix them. I have aroond 4,000 startup cash I'd like to use. Would that be enough?

not hard but first one will be a pain to do. after that you start to learn and it gets quicker. first one took me maybe an hour. after that speeds up to about 30 mins. watch youtube vids to learn how to do it. most important parts to get are lcd assembly, back glass, some screw sets and home buttons. any other repairs besides that get real tricky and i've never even done them. also buy a starter screwdriver set. i bought mine from icracked.com.
that should get you started. i have transitioned from fixing them and reselling to just selling them broken as-is overseas. my buyer in china pays very good for broken iphones. because if u start buying and selling volume in iphones, reparing them gets time consuming. but its the best way to start.

Sup brahs just been going over other ventures on Ebay and have loads of different ideas, one of them is basically service based, are service based buy it now listings allowed on ebay? or can you only sell products over ebay?
by service was thinking of doing some sort of financial/consulting advice where if you purchase it for a certain fee, you get support, tips, accounting, legal advice, business restructuring, pretty much anything, im a newish accountant and most of what I listed is done but in actual accounting offices and 1 to 1 with clients who are struggling or want help with reducing costs, increasing sales, essentially identifying any fixes to there businesses. Many of these are charged up to 100s of pounds/dollars an hour.
Do you think I could do something like this? a lot of information available for free is generic and of course nothing compared to actual financial analyst type work where you understand the clients business inside out.
Am I dreaming to do something like this over ebay? could just set up my own website but wondering if ebay is feasible.Last edited by jazzxxx; 12-03-2013 at 06:46 AM.

just throwing ideas around brah, always look for capitilising on your skillset you have, i wouldnt of aimed it as accountants but towards ebay businesses, theres little to no accounting/legal/strategic support for e-commerce side of operations for even some of the biggest businesses, medium sized businesses are only now really creating "e-commerce executives" and "marketing executives" for managing there ebay businesses. Thats just companies who trade on ebay on the side, actual ebay businsses who operate soley on ebay or primarly on there have little to no support at all.
Thats why you have ridiculous prices for ebay product templates, consulting fees for accounting procedures and recomended tax strategies at high fees. Although ebay has been around for a while, setting up a shop or ebay side of a business is still relatively new.
you will see a lot of traditional elements of business transfer over to e-commerce side such as marketing which is already well established, just from what I see there is no real support for say a declining ebay business who needs help in producing new strategies, looking for flaws in there current method of sales and helping them.
Just ideas brah always looking for something new to do, flipping will always be there on ebay.

pls respond
So I think I may have found a niche enough product to sell on eBay. Only one other person in the US is selling it currently and they have poverty time feedback levels. They're selling for $25(Free shipping) and I can get them for around $10. The problem is, I have never purchased anything from alibaba before and the whole importing thing is confusing.
Shipping is going to be $65 for DHL or Fedex and the first batch is under $200 so I believe there aren't any taxes. Will the package just be shipped to my house? Any random charges I should be expecting?
pls respond!

Lol, yes the package will be shipped to your house assuming you didn't goof and give your supplier the wrong address.
As for random charges, you may be charged by customs.. and I am speaking from experience on this. I received a sample before, and was charged custom fees by FedEx. It ain't measly fees either.

make sure you do your sums correctly because if you're buying them for $10, once you factor in shipping costs from supplier, shipping costs to buyer, paypal fees, ebay fees, custom fees, you may find that once you mark the price up you may be selling it for the same price as the competitor or maybe even more.
if its being shipped by DHL or Fedex they'll give you a tracking number and you can track it right to your door.
Not sure about US customs but $200 seems like a high threshold, the threshold over here is like £15/$25"Soft with the Ladies, Hard with the Men" - Emmanuel Frimpong
