I shipped an item with USPS and it's been stuck at the post office of the receiving city for like a week. The tracking info still has the item at the post office. What can be wrong?

    WTF?
Had the exact same thing happen to me with an iPhone about a week ago, idiot buyer didn't read description the complains how the volume button doesn't work

Send a Feedback revision request to the buyer and clearly state that is says in the description about the damage and tell them to look. If they have any morals they will remove it and take the blame, offer refund.

Alternatively if they continued been an ignorant idiot report the buyer to eBay explaining that they didn't read the description (worked for me before).

    Good luck.

Tried talking to eBay and emailing the idiot. No avail

eBay insits that it is the buyer's precitpion

EDIT: I call back, and speak to a MALE, and he immediately removes it with no hassle.

    For all the Amazon sellers,

Lets get a feedback exchange going. One of my accounts is suffering. Despite selling over 500+ items, I have ~70% feedback(happy buyers never leave feedback)

Most likely because the mail carrier who dropped off the package to your buyer didnt give the tracking label the final scan to make say "delivered"

happens to me from time to time especially with letter sized packages

Start with stuff in your own house to build up your paypal account balance and get sales history. I've sold countless things around the house. Amazon is OK for selling your old books too, but I am finding it harder to even break even here, but it could be the size of books I sell (mostly textbook size) and the fact the shipping I pay in Canada is a bit more expensive.

On Ebay I've sold old N64 and PS1/PS2 games. I've sold individiual controllers, sold consoles as-is that don't work and clearly explained they don't work such as N64, PS1, PS2 (working) and PSP. Old sports cards, some clothing. Its pretty simple to learn how to package things effectively, just invest in some basic packaging materials. I think USA brahs do it differently with pre-paid boxes. I don't seem to have that option where I live, so I cut out custom sized cardboard boxes for my items. Takes a few minutes but saves me some money, I wrap them in bubble wrap from Staples and stuff some old newspaper in the box if needed and ship them out.

You probably have at least $100 worth of ebay-able things and this will get you started on efficient packaging, learning shipping rates and ebay fees and getting your paypal and feedback higher. Once you have some money, start looking into garage sales, search craigslist for things to resell, you can try thrift stores (I never find anything here but your mileage may vary). I think the China importers are the next step beyond, this is when you are sitting on maybe $1000 or more I'd say (bare minimum?).

It helps to have a job in the beginning and put a certain % of each paycheck into your business, say $200 each paycheck into buying items on craigslist that you can resell on ebay. By far the hardest part is finding items to resell that you can profit off.

    EXAMPLE
An item you buy on Craigslist across town costs $50.00. Countless others are listed at $90.00 and you feel you scored a bargain. It took an hour of hunting craigslist postings to find what you think is a gem. You quickly check ebay compareables and note 7 sold this week for $72.00 average + $8.00 shipping. So the buyers are willing to spend about 80 bucks all in.

You will sell yours for the same. Ebay will take 10% of that total roughly. So you charge the buyer $80.00 shipped to their door, ebay will take $8.00 bringing your total down to $72.00. Then you still have to ship the item. Say this cost you $7.00. Now you are down to $65.00. You had to spend a little gas to get there, but in the end you made a bit of money. Thats a good start. Repeat it many times over.

Other times you will notice the difference in price is not worth it for you. By the time you factor 10% ebay tax, gas money and shipping fees, you won't make a dime. Unfortunately thats reality most of the time, but you will always find a few items if you search hard enough. Its just hard work.

Almost 300 items sold on Amazon and I only have 12 feedbacks lol. But once I get a bad feedback I would probably just make a new account. It's not like my ebay feedback which I will cherish and love like a growing child.

Call em up and be like "Aye yooooo, where da fuark my package at cuzzo?" Then they will respond with, we will try to track it down and will get back to you. They will never call back nor find it so don't hold your breath. Accept the loss now and claim defeat.

Its just hard work.

sup ebay bros, anyone else notice the new change in how buyers contact us sellers? Its fukking with my business already, ive done over 2000 transactions on ebay with no cases opened against me ever. Now in the last 2 days i have 3 cases opened against me because its the first thing ebay tells buyers to do when they want to contact a seller. The new system guides buyers into opening cases against sellers instead of just messaging where i can always fix their small issues. My customers are getting mad because they think i have disabled messages when in fact its just the new sh*t system. I advise all sellers here to complain to ebay as many are already doing, to get this garbage system reversed.

big thread on ebay about this http://forums.ebay.com/db2/topic/Sel...147175?start=0

The other fuked thing is that eBay gives customers the option to ask for a replacement item, but when they do this the system only gives me the option to give them a refund and the case doesnt get closed until i give them the refund. I want to give them a replacement item because thats what they asked for. Not a goddamn refund. If this system sticks around the negs will come.

Its confusing as fuk, a lot of buyers dont even realize they are opening a dispute.

Sold 133 things this month. Just opened up an ebay store. Annoyed I didn't get top seller status. I meet every requirement but the April 20th evaluation only evaluates stuff up until March 31st? No Thanks Jeff. Gotta wait until the next eval on May 20th to get my top seller plus status.

Selling limits are almost tapped out too. Raised them to 150 from 50. Gonna have to try and raise them again.

I think most of you know I have a store opening within a month so I have to put a sign up on my building. So I hired a company to make me some logos. Let me know which one you like. Also I get unlimited revisions so lemme know what you would change as well. I can take bits and pieces from each one and add em into the other or whatever.

It seems like its going to get pretty messy and im not confident if the cases get elevated to customer service that they are competent enough to figure out the situations properly. Theres even people in the thread saying customers wanted to leave positive messages saying thanks for a product and it ends up opening a case. The other lame thing is that you dont get phone notifications when customers open cases like you do with messages, I always respond to messages as soon as i can. If i dont get notifications customers will be waiting longer for a reply = customer getting mad.

quick question on iphones... is it worth figuring out how to UNLOCK? Seems like unlocked ones get more money. I assume it just a matter of buying the right software. Any insight much appreciated!

Tax brahs - assuming that I buy items from locals on Craigslist and resell on eBay, what do I need to do to record the in-person Craigslist transaction so that the IRS is satisfied? Will a simple handwritten receipt be accepted?
