Is it really good for your kidneys and urinary track and such? Does it help protect against kidney stones? What kind is best, and when would be the best time to drink it if I were to have it once a day? I follow p/f, p/c meals.
Cranberry juice is good for urinary tract bacterial infections. To my knowledge there is no scientific evidence for anything related to kidney stones... (someone correct me if I am wrong).
But, besides that, cranberries in themselves are pretty good for you - they have lots of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants etc. I don't think there is a 'best time to drink it' and I think one glass a day would probably be enough to get the benifits. Just make sure you get the 100% pure cranberry juice and not the stuff that is made with a lot of added sugar. There are also tablets available if you don't want to drink it.
It is a fruit - so it means carbs. Maybe have it in the morning as part of a protein/carb meal. As long as you factor it into your daily needs it would be fine.
