I've always been fat. Since childhood, I was the fat kid. Hung out with other fat kids. Didn't seem to fit in anywhere else.
My weight was an issue always, but when I started my current job 8.5 years ago, it got alot worse. My first desk job, and I was older. I couldn't eat the same way anymore. But I did anyway. Plus I was already dating, so I didn't have much concern about getting in shape for women. But anyway.
It's been a long journey so far, starting in January 2012 when my wife and I decided to change our lives, stop being so fat, and get into shape. She just came off having our second child within 2 years, and I guess I gained some baby weight myself in that time.
First pics are from Jan 2012, when I started.
My weight was 318.5 at that point. I'm guessing BF% at 55. No clue.
My wife started doing Weight Watchers, so she began cooking healthier food for dinner. It's basically the only reason I lost weight because I still ate garbage for breakfast and lunch. I didn't care about dieting really at that point. I wish I had, i'd be at my goal already.
The end of August I decided to start trying so I signed up for a gym, and began a real effort to eat better.
Weight was 288.5, so I had lost 30 pounds in 8 months, just by eating healthier for 1 meal a day.
Joined a gym, started eating right totally, and after 1 month there was already some progress visible.
Lost about 6 pounds. Nothing too great, but it was a start.
Then Hurricane Sandy hit. We had no power for 2 weeks. Couldn't cook, couldn't buy food and keep it cold. Basically ate out the first week. The second week we moved in with my in-laws, so thankfully my wife was cooking us all dinner. Needless to say, my gym had no power either, so that kinda sucked.
I decided to start IF right before Thanksgiving.
Fast Forward to December 1st. 3 months of gym
Weight at this point was 267. So I had finally hit the 50 pound mark. 51.5 now.

In January, 1 year total.
Weight at that time, 262 lbs. I had a slip up at Christmas, but nothing devastating. Just maintained weight for a week or 2.
I entered Krete77's weight loss competition, and lost 30 pounds in three months. Here are the most recent pics from a few days ago at the end of the comp.
Weight, 232, BF% 32-33.
It's not easy, it's not going to be. It was easy to gain the weight, eating whatever you want. Getting rid of it is the challenge. But it's worth it. It really is.
Will keep this thread updated along the way, hopefully I can motivate others to get it done.
Anyone can do it, seriously.LEO

Since I started taking the creatine i gained weight. I figured mostly water. I was up 5 pounds at one time, down to a 2 lb increase now. Ive been hitting my arms hard the past few days and was able to do tricep dips for the first time ever. Pretty excited about it. My weights gone up, but im feeling stronger, and lifting heavier. Coincidence?

Well done man! Massive difference from where you started! It's true it does get harder to lose lbs as you get lower, the good thing is it takes less lbs to make a visual impact so the rewards are greater.

I've ignored cardio long enough. My weight loss has really stalled lately, kind of frustrating. Getting back into running. I don't know if I can call it running. It's like a walk/jog/run combo, but I guess its whatever haha.
3x the past week. Would like to keep on that pace, or more. Using the Couch to 10k app, I hope to be able to run in the Long Island marathon next May. Either the 10k or half. I don't think I'll be in shape to do a full, but we'll see. The problem is I need to actually commit to something and not just do it for a couple months and give up. I'm too old to be this fat.
Will be posting updated pics in the next couple days for a competition. I have ones I took a couple weeks ago up currently on my progress photo page.LEO

Goddamn man. I think this is the first I've seen of you, other than your avi. An inspiring transformation so far. Keep up the hard work.
"The hardship of the exercises is intended less to strengthen the back than to toughen the mind. The Spartans say that any army may win while it still has it's legs under it; the real test comes when all strength has fled and the men must produce victory on will alone." (Pressfield,1998, p.78)

Update pics for morning of June 12th
Weight: 226
I can definitely see differences in the pics from the last 2 months, even though the scale hasn't moved much. Probably recomping at the moment. Which I can accept. I'm fine with slow weight loss if I am gaining some muscle back in the interim. Adding in some running into my routine, hoping that kick starts some fat loss, and my lifting keeps my muscle.
At this rate I won't be in bikini weather for this summer, but that's ok. Progress is progress. I'm sure in another month i'll get aggravated again and get depressed, but we'll see.LEO
