    i have chitty ab genetics usually train them once a week with some leg lifts or machine. But now im hitting them hard since iv been cutting which has been for 3 months now and im able to feel that they are getting alot more solid obviously not growing because im in a deficit but they are stronger now and are very visible in the morning when i wake up at my lightest wieght lol. Feelsgoodman

    You guys are ****ing retarded if you think not training abs = having no abs at ripped bf%

    some people have muscle insertions that make it so no matter how lean/much they train abs, they won't form distinct 'abs'.... at 3% bf%, even if you had never done anything that indirectly worked abs (squats, deads, etc), they'd still look like a sik kunt

    Not training abs directly is just like not training arms directly, or calfs, or rear delt or whatever. The muscles will be able to grow moderately, but they will never reach its full potential.

    Not training abs is fine for beginners or intermediates, but other than that its just pure laziness.

    I'm in the camp that squats, deadlifts, and even pullups and chinups will work the abs indirectly.

    But I think I'll start focusing on lower ab work anyway...you can never be too sure.

    I don't agree with this. Abs are utilized throughout a plethora of exercises, many of which is enough stimulation to cause growth. In that regard they are not like biceps, or rear delts at all.
    The more I eat and the heavier I train - the better my 'genetics' get.

    Lot of it is genetics TBH

    Some people can get to lower bodyfat and struggle to get their abs to show (despite compounds)

    Other peoples abs readily show at higher bodyfat.

    Train your core anyway, it will be useful for your powerlifting as well.

    my friends dad had colon cancer and they had to cut into his abs to get it out

    he said for the next month or so his abs hurt whenever they were used

    this meant getting out of bed, turning around to open a cabinet, sitting down: basically living ur life- u always use ur abs

    so naturally, sure, exercising makes ur abs work, but for those seeking more results, working them out is a big plus

    also, someone who works out their abs to the same size as someone who has indirectly worked them to the same size...guess what? the one who put in work has a stronger set of abs

    anyone want to get mad that im right or get mad that i only just started utilizing the information i know regarding training?
