What would happen if I go over 1000 cals over maintenance just for a day?

It will take 2 days of a 500 cal surplus to be even again so you have 3 days of no progress on your defecit

For the most part, not a great deal. You might look a little bloated the next day, but in the scheme of things nothing will change.

Everyone wants to cut down to low bodyfat but few can have the disipline. If being cut up was easy everyone would do it. 1,000 cals over maintenance no big deal blah blah blah........BS. cals count. People are looking for justification in threads like this for people to say that it doesn't matter. it DOES matter. You wanna be ripped? you're gonna have to be disiplined. No way around it.

    you take those 1000 calories
you multiple the protein by .75 due to the thermic effect
    carbs by .95
    fat x .97.5

Considering any excess protein intake would be converted into glycogen before the ingestion of carbohydrates fully replenished the glycogen
and then you calculate your maximum carb intake to see if it was already fully replenished and if those carbohydrates areconverted into fat.

if it was converted into fat then whatever calories were stored and that is the amount of weight you gained

cognrats op you gained 20 lbs.

not srs( i honestly started typing and dont know where I stopped or what made sense)

Put a tub of Ice Cream, Peanut Butter, and Nutella in front of me and you'll be as sure as hell it'll be gone by the time you're done using the bathroom.

But seriously, on topic, I wouldn't worry about over indulging for one day. Worrying too much like that causes too much stress and symptoms of an eating disorder. Just remember how you felt and think about the positive things of what you ate.

I'm with the dude that got straight to the point about being disciplined.

Don't do it again. Simple as that. You took a step backwards. There is no justification that will be found or anything - it wasn't good and it's not "no big deal".

Stay on track. The feeling of discipline and the reward you get from following through with it is much more pleasurable than the ****ty feeling of regret.

Stick with it. Don't be that dude and keep eating your fat ass pizza either - stay on track and throw that pizza away.

I don't agree with this at all. If it becomes a habitual thing, like every few days, you're not going to be cutting... you're going to be 1k calories over maint and the outcome will be what it is. If you do this on occasion, you're fine! Also pizza is fine if it works within your calories and macros.

If you're on a 500 cal per day defecit you just wiped out 3 days of dieting. that should put it in easy terms. So do that once per week and report back. I'm sure it will be under a heading "I CAN"T LOSE FAT...HELP!!!!" You'll say "I'm eating at a 500 cal per day defecit. Should I drop cals more? And Oh BTW I have a cheat day on Saturday so my metabolism doesn't crash."
