    April 18th Update
Had two scoops of cinnamon casein and and apple in the magic bullet for a shake. Ate a bowl of extra lean ground beef and veggies that was leftover. Later had a large chicken breast, coleslaw, tomato and some fried potatoes.
I'm actually feeling a bit hungry right now but we'll see after sleeping. Sleeping always kills hunger a bit.

Cutting today anyways because planning some big meals tomorrow so no point weighing but kcal will be quite low. Actually so far I've eaten 3 chicken breasts, 3 scoops protein and a 6 inch subway sub with mustard and salt and pepper. No more food needed today. Bench tomorrow.

April 20th: 184.2lbs OVER (NEW GOAL WEIGHT: 183.0lbs)
Sorry body, planned cheat day today. Will be holding a ton of water the next few days. Already had a ton of bacon/sausage/hashbrowns/cheesey egg whites/chocolate. Just finished benching, got 195x7 on max set. Was hoping for 8 but I think I lost some from my legs being cramped against the wall with my new gym setup. Might start taking down some walls Wednesday.

Later pirogi pizza to myself and drinks to finish the cheat.

Fasted yesterday, didn't get hungry until supper and forgot about it in no time by keeping occupied. Still bloated I think.

Over by 0.2lbs, right on track I think! Also down a belt loop. Fasted quite a while yesterday but ended the evening with leftover bacon, sausage, and egg whites/veggie scramble with some salami and lots of water. Had a great sleep and ready to go. Today I won't be pushing a deficit too big. Going to an awesome BBQ place tomorrow evening, Sloppy Hoggs Roed Hus, which I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Edmonton.

Excellent. Will lift today and going to Sloppy Hogg's Roed Hus on a surplus day.
Yesterday I was close to maintenence. For lunch I had a grilled cheese made on sprouted grain bread with coconut oil with old cheddar and a mozarella slice, 3 sausage patties and 3 strips of bacon with a side of the extra 4 sausage patties and a piece of bacon. On the side I had 250mL unflavored greek yogurt with a scoop of cinnamon bun casein and a small slice of coconut cake. I was feeling good and full so didn't eat again until pretty late when I had two scoops of ON chocolate mint whey and a cookie.

Over as expected after eating lots of egg whites for lunch and later 1.25lbs of meat plus bacon, cheese, waffle bread, fries etc. at Sloppy Hogg's. Great meal. While warming up for squats my calf was feeling weird so I aborted before max effort set. I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Not planning on eating until hungry today.

Ooops, a few days behind here.

    April 26th: 184.0lbs OVER
I actually was feeling really crappy and decided to eat at maintenence. Had some pizza and generally took it easy. Later the next day though I realized that it wasn't due to my eating/training it was just allergies. When I turned 18 I suddenly was allergic to grass pollen and a few other things like snow mold that get me in spring. Originally it was just super irritated eyes but it turned into just feeling crappy and sleepy over the years, I could sleep 13 hours a day all month during this if I don't take anything.

April 27th: 189.0lbs OVER (NEW GOAL WEIGHT: 181.5lbs)
Here I was still feeling crappy and ate around maintenence with some leftover pizza, eggs and bacon. Was feeling crappy still so I just did high rep squats until I got some really good muscle exhaustion. I wasn't feeling good enough to max. I'll call that squat day, next workout day is deads.

    April 28th: 189.0lbs OVER
Duh, now I realize my exhaustion was just due to allergies. Feeling fantastic with some anti-histamines. Straight PSMF until I'm under 181.5lbs but I'm probably holding 7lbs of water so that should be no problem, 3 days at most. So later tonight I'll have some chicken breast, not hungry as of yet.

Yesterday had 7 pieces of bacon and 3 chicken breasts, close enough to a PSMF. ;-) Was on the treadmill a lot yesterday, probably holding a bit of water.
Feeling great, so far planning another low kcal today.

Goal is 181.5 this week so I'm still over. Still feeling good and all that so no worries. Yesterday I had 3 pieces of bacon, a few pieces of salami, a lot of shrimp and veggies, 250mL Greek Yogurt with 2/3 scoop of cinnamon casein and a shake with an apple and 2 scoops cinnamon casein. Later in the evening had a few rye whisky + diet cola. I'm unsure what I'm going to do today but I'll play it as it comes along while staying under maintenance.

    May 1st Update:
    Deadlift 310x7, 280x9 (last week 300x8, 170x10)
Down a rep per lift while up 10lbs. Fair trade, I don't see any strength loss yet.
So far today I've has a 12 inch Subway sub with mustard and every vegetable and an extra 1/2lb of Walmart deli chicken breast meat. Also been snacking on some salami and cheese. I maaaaaay have a 2nd real meal which would put me slightly above maintenance if I'm feeling hungry. My body is undecided so soon after lifting.

Surprisingly low considering yesterday I finished yesterday with a McDonald's Angus 1/3 meal supersized. I should be pretty carbed up and I drank plenty of liquids afterwards so I'm quite happy with this. I'm feeling strong carbed up other than anything below the waist because those muscles are pretty spent. :-)

Today I'm going high protein, low everything else, eating whenever I'm hungry. Goal for the day is muscle recovery and fat loss.

Yesterday had a few protein shakes, pickles wrapped in chicken breast deli meat, two lean pork chops and some beans in molasses.

Well, for the first week I haven't hit my goal weight even once despite I think only having one high kcal day which was the first day. Considering my exercise/diet these last 7 days I'm not put off, it could be as simple as holding water due to allergies.

Today I'm going to eat more but keep it under maintenence. Eat some things I've been craving.

Alright, been super busy finishing work stuff before Vegas among other stuff. Decided to just eat well and maintain more or less this week. I think I'm still really bloated due to allergies. I'll take some pics tomorrow so we can see. I some weigh-ins logged in Libra though so here's a summary of what I missed in the log:

May 4th: Ate relatively freely. Allergies hit 10x harder this day than before.
    May 5th: Ate relatively freely.
    May 6th: 193.2lbs, bloated. Fasted.
    May 7th: Low carb day.
May 8th: Burgers + Pasta. Benched 195x8 which is +1 rep. Accessories up too.
    May 9th: 186.0lbs, PSMF day.
May 10th: Random heavy activity. Ate freely.
May 11th: Fasting! Will take pictures in the morning!
    May 12th: Vegas!

    Yo, you still going on?

I've tracked your progress on and off over the years.

Reading some of your posts back in 2006 was one of the main reasons I joined this site and have been around ever since.

    Hope all things are well.

Oh yeah! Still going! For the record of this log I did take end pictures in May. I should put them up. I'm even leaner now after eating a more normal Leangains-style diet (carb cycling/if/high protein).

Makes me glad to hear that! Haha, this site is great. Whenever I'm visiting my motivation is much higher.

Things are great over here. How about you?

I'm doing pretty well these days as well. Seem to be struggling with a mental plateau more than anything.

Just trying to stick with it no matter how much I get burnt out and keep going.

Seems like I take 1.75 steps back for every 2 I go forward.

I know hey? Knowing how to do all this is one thing. Making it fit into a full, event-filled life is completely another. It takes a whole other kind of practice. Each time we mess up though it just more practice.

Personally I found doing a lot of cardio while cutting for me = injury and burnout. I'm waaaaay better off just cutting kcal a little bit more and only doing incidental cardio. Mix that with ACTUALLY doing stretching (no longer injury-prone!) and I think I'm finally figuring what works for my body.
