Big division game tonight. I think GB will pull it out, but wouldn't be upset if the Lions won. If Lions won, Vikings would control their own destiny in the division.

Sort of. We'd still be 2-1 in the division. Lions haven't played a division opponent yet. Vikings are 0-2 and go to Det next week (I think?).

Next time we play the Vikings it's in MN, but it's also primetime. So who knows which Kirk shows up

If Lions win tonight and the Vikings win out (lol) then the Vikings would control their own destination as they would have a better W/L/T record than the Lions due to the Lions tie.

This, I have no faith in Kirk against good teams, specially in prime time. He has to prove himself. Yesterday he took a step in the right direction (8-27 now against winning teams?) but the Eagles secondary is injury plagued and just bad right now. That second TD to Diggs Kirk had 2 guys wide open for the TD. Kirk still make the reads and throws so I have to give him a little credit there.

What impressed me the most was Zimmer actually having a solid game plan. My money (lost $50) was on him being stubborn and wanting to run the ball 42 times against the #1 rush D, but he came out gunning and exploited Phillys weakness. Props to Zimmer.

Yes, I was very impressed with how the Vikings adapted to what the Eagles were weakest at. I figured they would try and run the ball even though the Eagles have a good rush defense.

If Zimmer can adapt the game plan to give the players the best chance to win and Cousins doesn't melt down, I think the Vikings have a positive future.

Play calling is on point. I like not being able to predict most of the calls. Cousins is sharper than ever even without Thielen. Diggs needs to work on not dropping the ball which has caused many problems(int, dropped TD).Most balanced team in the league

With Cousins playing well, offense is so much better. With a strong run game and Cousins throwing the ball well, the offense will be hard to stop.

I wasn't impressed with the defense. 364 yards in the air and 4 TDs isn't good.

Worst defensive outing this year for sure. They do that then snap back to normal most of the time

Let's not forget that Stafford and his WR's are pretty legit though. 6th highest passing yardage offense in the league thus far. They are going to get their yards on about any defense. Our problem was giving up too many TD's and not holding them to more FG's. And those TD's were primarily on Rhodes getting picked on. Holton Hill comes back after the KC game for what it's worth, so Rhodes may hit the bench if Hill is in shape. Mike Hughes is looking good.

It looks like I am going to the game this Thursday btw......

I get that the Lions offense is pretty good, but if the Vikings want the best chance of winning, getting in shoot outs does not give them their best chances. Cousins in playing well, but I would have the defense play tough and not give up 4 passing TDs to one player.

Also, MRI today for Thielen and his hamstring. I imagine he's going to miss this Thursday's game. With it being the Redskins at home I don't think you need to rush him back as that should be an easy win.

I was glad to see the rookie WR Johnson step up in Thielen's absence. Not every team has depth like that to not skip a beat when your star WR leaves the game.

Right, need to hold teams to more FG's, but the Stafford TD passes were pretty much perfect passes.

Yep, Bisi Johnson is looking like what we hoped Treadwell was gonna be at the time we drafted him. Cousins seems likes he trusts Johnson now. Johnson is also a big upgrade from Beebe. So Beebe's injury may have actually been a blessing.

They are reporting he'll likely be out thurs. from Ben Goessling:

The MRI on Adam Thielen’s hamstring confirmed much of the optimism we’d heard postgame: Thielen likely won’t play Thursday night, per source, but should be fine after that. As I said Sunday, Thielen was pushing to go back in, and he’s had things like this before.

Loving the offense these past two weeks. I cant remember the last time the Vikes were able to put up 40+ points. I feel like in the Bradford era just a few years ago, we were hard pressed to put up 20.

Does Bradford (and his 17 starts here) even count as an era? (shudders)

More like a quick stop into retirement.
I’m excited for Thursday AD and Keenum back in the building and Kirk playing his former team. Should be a fun watch

I’m okay with the offense carrying the defense for once and I’ll give the defense some credit they stopped the two point conversion and picked off the last minute deep ball to try and come back. At this rate if the defense gets a minimum of 3-5 stops a game that could easily be the time for the offense to pull away

probably not, seeing as it feels like he spent more time injured than playing. but I didn't really know what else to call it, and era was the first word that popped into my mind. Maybe i should have used christian ponder as an example instead

If Kirk was to go back to Washington and lay a giant egg against the 1-6 Redskins would it add the ice back though

Great win last night against Dallas. Kirk Cousins stepped up and did what he had to to not lose the game. Dalvin Cook carried the offense in both the run game and passing game. Vikings defense looked a bit suspect there for a while, but in the red zone they played pretty well.

A win keeps the Vikings within one game of GB and sitting comfortable for the last spot in the wild card...if they don't win the division. I'm hoping to see Thielen back soon because the last two weeks shows Diggs is boom or bust and the offense benefits greatly from having Thielen playing.

    Thumbs up

I gotta say that jump throw from Cousins at the goal line was pretty sick.

Also, Dalvin Cook isn’t human. He destroyed a few Cowboys players last night lol

If we can run the ball taking some pressure off Kirk we can beat anyone. Once our run is shut down, we are in massive trouble. Kirks back is not strong enough to carry the team on his own.

Last night was HUGE for the Vikings and Kirk. Those games we usually lose. 0-9-1 in the last 10 road games against teams with a winning record.

I realize the Cowboys are stacked on Offense but dam, Zimmers D needs to tighten things up out there.

my biggest worry going forward is weather theilen can get to 100% or not cause hamstring injuries really linger and can take weeks on end to get right. And his absence really shows how much he means to this offense. But glad we stepped it up kendricks made easily the play of year for us thats a season changing swipe to save the game

I'm not sure what extent his hamstring injury is, but if he takes care of it and doesn't keep coming back too early, he should be fine. I've heard reports that he'll come back week 13 (after the bye week) 100% healthy and ready to go. Even Cook told him that he needs to take care of this and come back 100%.

The game plan was to sellout to stop Zeke though. That's why the coverage looked so terrible a lot of the time. CB's were truly on islands with guys. Virtually no safety or LB help in coverage. Cooper and Cobb also made some incredible catches on some very well thrown balls by Dak too. So some credit where credit is due there.

The loss to KC w/a backup QB is going to come back to bite us this year though I think.........

Yeah, Vikings sold out on the run and they did a great job. 20 carries for 47 yards. Cooper is just a stud WR who when you cover 1 on 1 you're going to lose more times than you win. As you mentioned though, how many amazing catches did Cooper and Cobb make. I don't think I've ever seen so many toe tapping sideline catches before in one game.

Losing to KC was tough, but with a number of divisional games coming up, they just need to win those and they should win the division. Worst case they win a wild card spot.
