OMFG. Is this a prophecy? I read my dughter the Corduroy Bear book all the time:

"Corduroy is a 1968 children's book written and illustrated by Don Freeman, and published by Viking Press

The book tells the story of a teddy bear named Corduroy, displayed on a toy shelf in a department store. One day, a girl named Lisa arrives in the store with her mother and spots the bear. She is willing to buy him, but her mother declines to spend more money and notes that a button is missing from his overalls.

After they leave, Corduroy decides to find the missing button by himself and embarks on a trip around the department store after it closes in the evening. He goes upstairs and finds furniture he had never seen before, including beds and mattresses. Thinking that one of the mattress buttons is the one he is missing, he pulls it hard and eventually falls down from the bed, making noise. The store guard arrives, finds the bear and puts him back in place.

The next day, Lisa comes back with the money she had found in her piggy bank and buys Corduroy. At home, she sews a button on his shoulder strap and the book ends with them saying that they had always wanted a friend and hugging each other.
Does this not sound like the draft? Vikes passed on him 2 times and came back into the 1st round (the store) and bought him. lol.

So what's the verdict on Manti Te'o? A lot of people projected him to go in the first round. Did they pass on him because there were better choices or did the 'girlfriend' incident play a part in him missing the first round?

I think the grade on him was early to mid 2nd round. A lot of people had the Vikes taking him because of the ND pipeline in recent years and Spielman spent a lot of time with Te'o. Turns out that it was probably smoke screen. I don't know if we'll ever know who they had targeted for our two firsts because I don't think they figured Rhodes or Floyd would be there.

I think the fact that Te'o has issues getting off the block, isn't very good in coverage, the Championship game and catfishing thing probably hurt.

Can't believe Reddick is still on the board in the 6th and we took the Penn St. kid. Seems like about the right spot in the draft for Hodges, might be a better Tampa 2 LB than Reddick given he's good in coverage.

Greg Childes running, looking smooth. Not holding my breath but I didn't think he'd be able to run like that so soon.

Webb moving to WR, Kalil had pneumonia and lost close to 30 pounds during the last 4 games of the season. Henderson to open OTAs as MLB.

If Webb could learn to run routes and catch he'd be a hell of a WR. 6'4", athletic as hell, 4.43 40 time......problem is he can't catch or run routes...lol.

No, not in a 4-3 Tampa 2 based defense.

    He'd make a great 3-4 OLB, IMO.

The thing about the MLB in a tampa 2 is they generally have to be a tad smaller and faster because they drop into coverage more than 3-4 ILBs or traditional 4-3 MLBs do.

Thinking about vikes starters for next season at this point:

    QB: Ponder
    RB: AP
    TE: Rudolph
    LT: Kalil
    LG: Johnson
    C: Sullivan
    RG: Fusco
    RT: Loadholt
    WR: Jennings
    WR: Patterson (most likely)
    WR: Wright (slot)

    DE: Jared Allen
    DT: Floyd
    DT: Williams
    DE: Robison
    SAM: Greenway
    MIKE: Henderson
    WILL: Hodges/Mitchell
    CB: Cook
    CB: Rhodes
    SS: Sanford
    FS: Smith

I tell you what....if the rookies play well this year that's a lot better team on both sides of the ball than last year.

I tell you what....if the rookies play well this year that's a lot better team on both sides of the ball than last year.
I think Henderson is going to be a great in the middle, it's in his blood! I'm rooting for Hodges as well at Will

Lotta very young talent on this team, I hope we fall under the radar in the pre-season again this year

My biggest concern with the rookies is Patterson. Listening the guy talk, he doesn't sound like a very smart guy.....almost like he's got a mental disability...lol. 11 on the wonderlic.

Ahh I know man, dat dere junior college education

At least he seems like a geniunely hard worker and nice person, though , from what I can tell on the videos i watched.

I just have a feeling he's going to be Ponder's best friend on the field w/ YAC .. And I'd say more so than Percy was solely based off of Patterson's size and ability to run deep.

you guys think patterson is capable of starting right away? not like we have much to choose from though i guess.

not sure about webb at wr but i guess it's worth a shot. i'd like to see him on kick returns though. he's not as agile as a guy like patterson, but his topline speed is something else. then put patterson on punt returns

Patterson will start assuming he grasps enough the offense to know which routes to run and that he can run the routes well. That will be the challenge with him, I think,

Chances are Webb gets cut at some point.

I highly optimistic about Patterson.. But that's just the homer side of me.

In reality, it's gonna take him a few years to develop as a complete receiver

I think he'll be good but he's not going to be an AJ Green or Julio Jones that comes in and is good right way. I think if he can come in and just be good enough to be the #2 right way that will be good. I'd be pretty happy with Patterson if he can catch 50-60 passes for aound 700-800 yards and maybe 5-8 TDs.

He's a 100+ catch, 1000+ yard 10+ potential guy but I think the learning curve for him will be worse than Julio Jones or AJ Green. Maybe Josh Gordon like production would be decent.

Like I said, I think if this guy puts all the pieces together he can be an absolute force.. he definitely has all the physical tools to do so.

I don't know if he could have hand-picked a better mentor than Greg Jennings to teach him the position, too. Couple that with that amount of competition they're going to have in camp (w/ Wright, Simpson, Greg Childs, Rodney Smith, Erik Highsmith, and Duron Carter [maybe] all fighting for their jobs).. it's definitely going to be interesting.

On a side note, any of you broski's plan on attending the Vikes training camp this summer? My Brothers and I go every year, diz gon be gud this year, too..

The plan at this point is for me, my wife and daughter to go down to training camp for at least one day.
