hey guys, im 15 (16 in june) 5'6, and 120lbs. ive been bulking for a while, but have been informed recently that i dont need to, because my body cant produce the necessary hormones like a 17+ male can to build LBM. so which is it? should i do a smaller surplus, because i cant use as much of the excess calories? ive also heard that males at my age have a better potential than anyone else... alot of mixed junk out there, i know! so a 250 or 500 surplus? thanks!

Considering you're 15, I'm going to assume that by an American/Canadian standpoint, you're in the 9th or 10th grade. I am 16 personally and the guys started bulking last year when they were 15. These boys are getting quite ripped so I don't think you need to worry too much about this "17+" junk that you hear. Sure, your hormones will be more active at that age, but bodybuilding and hormones, while linked, are also separate. The longer you body build, the more time you have to see results. I'd say keep the 500 surplus and watch the results come as your body continues to develop.

apparently it is because you cant read my post correctly? weight gain doesnt equal muscle gain. i said that ive been told by some (jason blaha) that they dont think that my body is developed enough or has the right amount of hormones to fully utilize a 500 surplus like a 17+ year old will. now you see the dilemma!
