I'd rather the yoga convention... I can drink scotch and go to the best strippers in niagara falls if I want to...but hanging out with a pile of good looking/not so screwed up people is more my cup of tea now...hmmm, I did have my stag at a rave club (guvernment) back in the day....
There were free yoga classes, tons of different booths and lots of energy in the air...my friend freaky Freddy antwi (google that!) is now the publisher of an mma/crossfit and yoga magazine...his booth was pretty cool...also, if you have never had a Thai yoga massage, I highly recommend...(no, not one of those you guys....come on...

I've been a silent reader for a while, but I'd like to say something to the ongoing discussion :-). At first a little introduction, I'm from Germany / Europe (I'm female), please excuse my imperfect English now and then.
I think it's important to not give in in such stuffy accusations coming from your sister (or anyone else) regarding e.g. the yoga pants / leggins and the visible bra stripes.
Because if you give in, their ideology will take more and more space and you'll live life according to their suppressing moral standards - and that will not only take your freedom bit by bit, but will make you unhappy in the long run.
A little example - years ago no man wore beach shorts that are knee long and concealing to the beach in Germany. But the stuffy trend came and everybody changed their practical speedos for those unnecessarily "disguising", hindering swimwear for men (you have to try them on in water, they pull you down like a little weight during swimming - I gave it a try and imo they are deliriously incommodious and bad to wear in water), as if they have to be ashamed of their anatomy; whereas in women's case it's ok and accepted to wear tight, revealing swimwear - hello double standards...
But not everything became plain - for example in the summer some people still like to swim naked in rivers and lakes nearby. This is great in my opinion because it also holds up and secures partly freedom of the indiviual and it provides with liberating perspectives.
Hope you could understand my point of view :-). My advise is, don't give in when you're confronted with boring, stuffy conventions of narrow minded people (even if they are family). Continue to wear what you prefer and what you like most, more than ever when those complaining people are in your company.
Regards,
MeFromG(ermany) :-)

Try since humans existed , though is not a good thing, it keeps your mind on your problems , your past , your future , your hopes , desires , ect...... We need to fully take in the NOW since that's all we really have.. When in the NOW , it doesn't matter what anyone thinks, when your at that level of thought the ego doesn't effect you the same :P meaning listen to yourself and do what makes you happy , its your experience have fun

LOL! I don't look good in them...well not compared to all the beautiful people that live in Austin...but I don't care, I wear them anyway. They're comfortable and some of the only clothes I don't care about sweating in. Typically you'll see me in them Sat mornings going to the grocery store, hair a mess from my morning cardio workout, reaking of sweat because why shower when you're just going to lift when you get home, topped off with no makeup, and some random likely permenantly stained t-shirt from one of my prior races. If it's summer, I'll rock flip flops with them, winter I'll put in the extra effort of tennis shoes. Sexy, eh?
My husband, on the otherhand, needs to be pretty to grocery shop. We're quite the sight when we go together...me in my yoga pants outfit, him all showered and hair combed rocking some nice color coordinated duds....
Frankly, I don't care what people think. Life's just easier that way!

My argument to her would be it is less "slutty" to run in yoga pants then run in shorts that can ride up and show the rest of the gym your butt. Personally I only wear yoga pants when working out because when stretching or running they keep me covered and they don't bind or get in the way. So yoga pants are not just for the slut as she said.

ladies who wear yoga pants in the gym is extremely sexy but I never try to pick up a female at any gym. They have the worst attitudes, even some of the less attractive ones, lol. If I don't know the person, I won't even bother speaking because they automatically think your trying to hit on them.

The first time I learned not to give a F*c* about others I was 14 years old. I was a rhythmic gymnast, before we were allowed to wear tights or unitards. Of course, all the creeps came out of the wood work when my body was pictured on the cover of a large city newspaper, ESPN, etc. What really got on my nerves was my mom's need to show off my child body to everyone. And I mean everyone. It drew a lot of attention and comments.
And they were not compliments. They were calls from my very recognizable chem. teacher's voice on the phone, "I hear your bush needs trimming, would you like me to come over and care for it?" They were door calls from my dad's work buddies asking me on dates, they were complete strangers recognizing me at the water park and stalking me for a year or more.
They were not fans of my beautiful gymnastics leotard that was sport appropriate, they were all depraved psychos. My leotard, my athleticism, ignored. My body in my sports attire, suddenly a topic of discussion. Yes, at 14 years old. From men of all ages. Girls at school were just as presumptuous and horrid. Jealous, but wretchedly horrid.
There is pretty much nothing you can do when a psycho notices you but hope and pray someone else will catch his attention and he will move on.
P.S. Your sister is a psycho if she feels threatened by your awesome yoga pants.
Yoga pants, revealing *A holes in society since the appearance of spandex on MTV

and this is where being autistic comes in handy...no seriously, it's awesome not to pick up the 'vibes' of others in this sense...to the topic at hand, no in general but it's like that with all clothing and common sense (which many seem to be lacking these days) For example I don't use one machine in the gym because it's immodest even I picked up the 'vibes' from dudes looking at my rear while using a leg curl machine laying down style...I was wearing average stuff, but if attention is drawn to the rear area well yea...
Again it's common sense to me at least...wear things you like, and scratch your boobs and move on It's what I do, no one's bothered me about this or much else...just my two cents, your sister needs a bear hug and I'd give you one as well... (hug)
