People would be daft to write off Dortmund. They're outsiders but there's no reason they can't win it after easily topping a group with Man ****ty, Madrid and Ajax.

Decent performance from Arsenal but it's sad that they can't play with any fight until the tie is almost completely out of their hands. It's like last season when Arsenal put in an abysmal performance at the San Siro and lost 0-4 only to wake up too late and lose on aggregate after winning the 2nd match 3-0. It's happened often this season too; Arsenal has had very poor 1st half performances followed by greatly improved 2nd half performances.
I like that Wenger changed up the lineup, it's something that he needs to do more often. Fabianski, Jenkinson, and Rosicky all looked like they were out there to prove something. It just goes to show that competition for spots creates better performances and now this means that Szczesny, Sagna, and possibly Cazorla (where Rosicky played) will need to work harder to keep their spots. Kudos to Ramsey as well for busting his ass today. He made a few bad passes early on but he really worked hard.
This match sums up what I've been talking about all season regarding our striker/midfield linkup problem and that is we are completely unable to create chances down the middle with Giroud. Far too often Rosicky had nowhere to go with the ball because he didn't have a striker who can link up with the midfield. The only decent chances (both goals) came from crosses. There was no creation down the middle and that's simply because our #10 (Rosicky) had no striker to link up with. I think Bayern quickly realized that and adapted after the early goal which in turn really limited the number of crosses we could get in to Giroud.
.................
I hope Fabianski starts in goal against Swansea. Szczesny has too often looked careless and detached this season and Fabianski looked very sharp today. No reason to bench Jenkinson or Rosicky either. I wouldn't mind seeing Coquelin and Ox get a start too. Keep changing it up Wenger so all those apathetic ****ers wake up and have to fight for their spots.Last edited by .MANoWAR.; 03-13-2013 at 03:46 PM.

Meh really wanted arsenal to go through..
Right now I'd take Galatasaray, Malaga, PSG, Barcelona(i feel like we have their # now), Dortmund in that order
I don't want Bayern because I know they were just coasting in this last match with Arsenal.. and Juventus isn't that strong but for some reason those *******s always play well against us, so wouldn't be my first pick.
so, that means we'll probably get
Juventus Quarters
Bayern Semi
Dortmund finalEngineering Crew
Hala Madrid

I wouldn't be so quick to write of Galatasaray. Yilmaz is on hot streak and a strong, speedy striker. Once Drogba and Sneijder is match fit, i think they will have a chance. I also think Dortmund can put the performance against Barca but now that Hummels is out with an injury, not so sure how they will cope.

First, why do you keep implying that Dortmund is playing Barca next? The draws haven't been made yet.
Second, what makes you think Galatasaray has any chance of advancing again? They'll only have a chance of advancing if they draw Malaga.
Third, how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

MOW, first time i've seen you give ramsey some credit. see sig
although we kept giving away possession and desperately need a stronger striker, we played well. So disappointed we couldn't advance but this will be a big boost for the team.
now lets focus on top 4 trophyReps to Arsenal supporters on sight

First, i was answering to the people that are saying Barca the only team that can beat Dortmund
Secondly anything can happen, Chelsea were written off 3 times last CL season and they went on to win it.
Third, no need to get mad, we'll over take you in a couple of weeksLiverpool F.C. - YNWA

haha I've given him credit for his workrate before. But I still have very little faith in him long term and don't think he should be anything more than a squad player. He's not a good fit for a team that likes to keep possession mainly because he gives it away all the time and he rarely creates anything. In a nutshell, I think he's not a very good player mainly because he doesn't have the vision/awareness needed from a midfielder. Perhaps he'll improve over time because young midfielders are often very erratic but he's had a lot of first team playing experience without too much improvement. I'd love to see Coquelin get some playing time ahead of him.
First, oh okay.
Second, yeah but Chelsea had a lot more quality. If Gala draws one of Barca, Madrid, Bayern, or Juventus then they will get raped harder than that kid in The Kite Runner.
Third, say that to my face not online mother****er and see what happens.
There have been 2 popes elected since Madrid was last in a Champions League final.
no Wilshere, no Podolski no count really (referring to aggregate).
