    Smile Antidepressants and weight

Hello all...i have gained 10 pounds in the last year as I have been taking anti-depressants 20 mg celexa once a day. I do not feel like I am eating more and have been working out like a mad woman! I also am now 36 years old and that could be a contributing factor as well to the weight gain, but I am just curious to see if anyone else has had this issue! Please share..thank you.

Im on antidepressants currently as well. Have been for about 5 months.

First why are you on them? If you ask me antidepressants should be a last resort. Being depressed is our body's way of telling us were in a sh*tty situation and need to do something about it. Unfortunately for me my situation is out of my hands, so I plan to be on them for about a year. Unless of course you have a chemical imbalance.

To answer your question, Im certainly not working out like I normally would, simply because I dont have the energy. I dont think the serotonin should be affecting your weight, but im not a doctor (yet).

Perhaps you have slowly started eatting more and working out less without noticing?

Know im in this section for the wrong reasons, but if your working out do you really need to be taking anti-depressants?
Maybe just organise your time so you can see a shrink once a week?
