Anyone catch it last night on History? It was pretty good. It's based on a legendary Norse hero named Ragnar Lodbrok. There will only be five episodes, one on each Sunday night till 3/31, But the 31st is when Game of Thrones series premieres. And you know both shows will run at the same time. I hope History does what HBO and SHO do and re-run the episode the next hour or during the week. Last night was also the premiere of the series The Bible. It was pretty good, but if you've seen one Bible series or movie you've seen them all.

They were both pretty good. My kids were glued to the bible one, we enjoyed it. History channel disappoints these days, I would like to see more shows like these.

Maybe I need to learn how to DVR. It may be too soon though, considering I just got an iPhone at Christmas to replace my old flip phone that only made and took calls and texts messages. I'm slow at coming into the 21st century.

I was resisting for the longest time, but on Christmas Day Sprint was running an on-line special, iPhone 4 for $0. We have a family plan, so we put me on the plan for $30/mo. and got the phone free. It was just on a whim, and I happened to mention maybe it was time I joined planet earth. I turned my other phone in to work, it was a company phone. They had no plans to upgrade me to a smart phone. I even use the WW bar code scanner in the grocery store to find out how many points something is, then I can track it in my daily tracker. It's a real pip. However, I WILL NOT get a Nook no matter how much of an employee discount I get. I want a paper book in my hands.

I watched the first episode and thought it was a great start, to bad it only lasts nine episodes. Wonder if they'll continue it next year if its successful?

I download books to my I phone so I can read them anywhere. A dedicated e-reader would be a waste for me as they are not really more portable than any of the thousands of paperbacks I own but having a novel on my phone comes is great.

Started watching this last night. I had to stop half-way through the first episode because it was my son's bedtime and I promised I wouldn't watch it without him. We have a date to finish it tonight.

They played it again later that night after midnight. So you can just DVR the late one and watch it later.

man, I am behind on the shows. I just heard about the Bible and VIking yesterday from a coworker. I've dvr'ed both. There are way too many shows out there, I cant keep up.

I really didn't like the first two episodes. The third episode was the do-or-die one, and it kept me just interested enough to watch #4. This has got to be the first anything at all about vikings that I wasn't just obssessed over. (I pretty much love everything that has to do with vikings.)

Then again I really can't stand Gabriel Byrne. He's just shy of a plank of wood, and I can't take him seriously as a jarl.

I kind of lost interest in it at the 2nd or 3rd episode. Maybe the novelty of it wore off. Game of Thrones was wearing thin last season, except for the story arc of Danaeras Targaryan (the dragon mother). I want to see where that goes. And I want to see King Joffrey get his comeuppance, the little bastard. I have a feeling Danaeras will come out on top. I'm cheering for her and her dragons.

The Bible is quite good. I like the representation of Jesus. He's very human, with a sense of humor, and human emotions, not like some other portrayals of him being stiff and serious all the time. The series is short on miracles and the supernatural (though not totally lacking), and long on lessons. As it should be, imo.

I've been watching it every week and like it a lot. It was hard to pick a show to watch between Vikings and Walking Dead since both are on at the same time but I see AMC is rerunning Walking Dead midweek. Who said you can't have your cake and eat it too

A show can get by on the story line. And good violence makes up for sex and topless boobs!!

I'm glad I kept watching it. The show took a while to pick up momentum, but it's gotten pretty interesting.

Last night I was watching the latest episode and during the funeral scene, all those vikings sitting around getting drunk, playing music, dancing, and wrestling, I turn to my wife and say, "Hey, that's how I want my funeral to be."

"Everyone fighting each other?" she says.

"Yeah, but good-natured, like wrestling like those guys are...and getting drunk and lots of music and dancing."

So she tells me to go onto all my meesage boards like bb.com and "your Scottish throwy places" and tell everyone that's what I want. Then she says to make a list of all the web sites where I announced my funeral plans, so she can log on and let everyone know I'm dead, so everyone can show up and wrestls and get drunk at my viking funeral.

This is my announcement. My funeral wish is for all you bastids to show up at my wake and act like vikings. My wife will let you know when (if) it happens.
