when I bench press, I have difficulty to touch the bar to my chest ( even with light weights ). I stop at about 2 inches from my chest. A lot of people told me I lifted to heavy because I couldn't touch my chest. Is it really bad if I don't ? Cause it hurts my shoulders when I touch it. Am I gonna barely gain muscle doing that ?

The PT is an idiot. [/QUOTE]
Actually the personal trainer is right....the last part of bench press uses a lot of shoulder, tha isn't to say you shouldn't go down this far because it also will work your chest down there, but alot if not most people decided to go about 3-4 inches above their chest because they have weak shoulders.
