Jay in my opinion had the GOAT mentality.
But, I really like Antoine Valliant's approach-
-Has alot of mentors in different areas of expertise, which you can tell he'd just soak up all that knowledge.
-Trains in arguably my favourite gym, with bands and chains- and interesting takes on exercises to target bodyparts differently (keeps training interesting)
-Awesome charisma to him when he is on camera alone training, keeps intensity high and always trains to heavy as music.
-Can work effectively towards any goals he sets, while maintaining a great fan base.
All of these may not be up there for you guys in necessity, but I think this is a great environment/mindset to become to best.Last edited by Zachary533; 02-11-2013 at 02:08 PM.

He talked about that all the time. Google the roundtable with him, shawn and flex. Look up the interview in iceman's blog (link in sig). Also watch M3. Here's what lee priest said about him
Kevin is funny..likes a drink ot two..well he use to...I remeber in 97 first Mr O i went o his room to tan him...he was sitting in corner asking how do i think i will go i said..hey i am just happy to be there...he said no lee you must want to win...it's war....then he reached over to the table where he had a gun and said yeah it's war.....mmmmm Kevin maybe alittle crazy ...but had fun time over seas with him on euro tour...he would always borrow stuff of people and you never get back lol.....On plane back from eruope kevin had to many vodkas and was alking around plane shirt undone pants half off..it was quite funny.

Dorian Yates and Mike Mentzer fit me well and I think they have an ideal philosophy with training. Lee Haney is another guy I admire too. When it comes to tenacity, Dorian and big Ronnie are perfect examples. They just bust their asses harder than others. I think Kevin Levrone kept himself healthy in the long run by trying to not bodybuild 365 days a year so that in itself is a GOAT mindset for preserving the body. Shawn's stubborness to not become a mass monster also is well respected by a lot of us because he didn't do what everyone else did and and he still won against giants--he stuck with what worked. Frank Zane is another guy who was similar to Shawn.

I'm sorry Kai does not have the GOAT mentality, he should have won the O last year.. and @ Finals he came out looking defeated.. Heath had the attitude and came out and blasted him like a true warrior..
Dorian has the GOAT mentality... Honorable mention to Branch Warren, despite having a **** physique he has the right attitudeInstagram @drsuperdose

Im gunna say everyone thats steps on stage and competes.. Why.?? Because everyone has a dream of winning and bettering themselves. Its like a brotherhood..
I dont think you can say that one person trains harder, diets harder etc etc. Each persons mental/physical approach is different but that doesnt make one person anymore better then another.
So.. The answer to your question without going to deeply into it.. Everyone that trains to step on stage and loves the art of bodybuilding..

I don even like Heath but its true.. Cockiness arrogance whatever you like to call it.. Heath came out supremely confident and it showed, he was aggressive and was rewarded for it.. All the commentators mentioned it, and I tend to agree and I don't even like Heath.. I was pissed that Heath won but it is what it is, Kai lacked confidence and attitude and looked defeated it was a common observation amongst the majority of spectators at the show

prime example is Dillet, what he means im assuming is that some people strive to be the best possible and don't rest on the accomplishments or what god naturally gave them by that i mean there are guys who every training day is done with the most dedication despite what there diet is, if there depleted, sick, have personal issues outside of the gym, whatever is going on they still give it there all. Same goes with diet you'll have guys like jay who their cheat meals are just extra carbohydrates like rice or taters and guys who don't go of there diet even once in a prep no matter what & eat every 2 hours or what have you consistently

Because I dont believe a Goat mentality is as complicated as it seems.
Ronnie knew what he had to do, and he did it.
The way he comes accross on camera doesnt necessarily represent the real person.
They say knowledge is power, and I believe Ronnie was smarter than he actually made out to be.Durius, Melius, Celerius, Fortius

There is a picture taken off to the side of the stage. It shows Phil standing ready to go back on and Kai is bent over a rail I think looking dead. Soon after Kai came out flat and not ready to challenge Phil's aggressive behavior. Have you seen this picture? It was posted here.

No, Kai was calm and very confident, head up high, smile on his face, flaring out. Phil's aggression was provoked by Kai's confidence, at least I believe it made Phil insecure and he tried so hard to rival his confidence, it ended up with arrogant behavior. The looks he gave Kai were degrading towards Kai, as if he wasn't up for the competition, that's not being confident, that's being arrogant.
Thank you.
Maybe, I can only refer to what he shows in interviews and his attitude on stage, bodybuilding being a ''hobby'' for him and competing for prices, being as genetically gifted as he is, he didn't show that he was as dedicated to bodybuilding as Kai or Dorian, despite being 8x Mr.O. As for Dorian and Kai, you can see how they portray their passion, how dedicated they are. The way Dorian trained, posed, spoke is a lot more serious compared to Coleman. That's how I see it at least.
I don't recall seeing a pic of it but I've seen footage. A picture isn't enough to judge though, Kai could be in a meditation state or so.

IMO Arnold has one of the best mental approaches for bodybuilding, all of his seminar speeches motivate me, can't say that about most other bodybuilders, although Jay does come close.
