    Am I 10-12 percent body fat?

    I am 5'11 150 lbs. I have a problem getting abs because they don't run in the family. All the genetics. My family says I'm the thinnest one out of them. My theighs are big but I can't help that, and a medium bone structure as I still can fit into a medium shirt. I want to know, if I look close to 10-12 percent body fat?

    I don't think you're close to 10-12% at all. Looks like 16-18% to me.

    you look about 15% bf and you should definitely bulk for a few months before cutting again

    you absolutely can get abs, nothing in your genetics to prevent that

    I tried the Omron body fat handheld the other day and it told me I'm 5.8 % body fat you know those grip devices you see often at gyms? They use those more then calipers. My gym doesn't have calipers and if I ever bought calipers myself I'd rather have a professional do it. So what does that mean? I could have low body fat as I am low in weight too and no abs? Or am I really 15 percent. Because I feel thinner then 15?

    just lift heavy weights and eat right and stop focusing on getting abs. They will come in time but to have abs at your currents state would not impress anyone. Just saying.

    maybe you are lacking muscle definition. You may be lean but there is no way you are 5-7% even if you had no muscle mass. Id say 13-15%. Eat more protein and gain muscle but regardless, never give up, don't get discouraged, it takes time!

    You are clearly carrying stomach fat and noticeable back/side fat. 14% min, more like 15%. Maybe higher; it's hard to tell with your body type ("square").

    Well, I took these two this morning. In flex form. The first pics I took where natural. I didn't flex in those pics. I guess flexing makes a difference right?

    I took front and side. I also sucked in my belly for the side view too. You can see my rib cage. Tell me what you think. Do I still look 14-15 percent body fat or less?

    It's not about gaining weight, just work on building muscle, including your core if you want abs in the future.

    If you haven't already I would recommend a bulk, during which you work hard on your abs, could even do them twice a week.
    Then when cutting after the bulk (lose body fat) you will probably have much more visible abs.

    Is stuff like protein bars, bananas apples, and peanut butter and jelly good for your diet? I know oatmeal is good for you but what kind of lunch meat would you recommend?

    You need to bulk. I didn't have abs even though I did crunches for the longest time. This last bulk I started doing weighted low rep sets for abs twice a week. Even though I'm 15% bfat right now, I can see my abs sticking out from under my fat. So, do heavy weighted exercises while bulking to develop your abs.
    12/1/12 - 120 lbs ~12% first bulk, only upper body.
    5/15/13 - 145 lbs ~16% First cut
    8/1/13 - 130 lbs ~8% Second bulk. Started training legs. 2x/week per bodypart. Track macros everyday
    2/1/14 - 155 lbs ~13%
    2/22/14 - 157 lbs ~14% Second cut
    3/8/14 - 152 lbs ~11-12%
    4/2/14 - 149 lbs ~9-10%
    7/20/14 - 143 lbs ~7%

    Do you think it also depends on someone's build? I am 5'11 150 lbs like I said. I use to be 210 lbs so I probably was 30 percent body fat at ONE point. If I look 15 percent, would it mean I am healthy too or what? Isn't 14-15 considered in the fit category? What's the average body fat for a normal man?
