Kaizen 100% Whey Isolate from Costco $44.00 for 4.4lbs or buy some online.

Buying a mixture of why and Casein seems counterintuitive... Not sure why you would want that

Why not? Some proteins have casein and different isolates such as egg, soy and whey. It isn't necessary at all, but to each their own

Very true, point taken. The only reason I said it seems counterintuitive is because whey is the fastest absorbing and casein the slowest.. they're on opposite end of the spectrum in terms of absorption so I'm not entirely sure that's optimal.

I believe you're describing Trutein. It is a blend of 40% whey, 40% casein, and 20% egg white. 115-120 calories per serving with 23-25 grams of protein, depending on flavor. I also believe you'll find it to be the best tasting protein to ever hit your lips. Check it out in the store for more info: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/tr...n/trutein.html

Not only that, but blends also make for thicker shakes and are better to cook and bake with than wpc. It also satiates better in many peoples' opinion. It's typically less expensive.

**** I was at Sam's club shopping today and they had 5lbs of whey protein for $35 and a good ingredients list too. I personally don't use any protein powder because I get plenty from animal products and I've also read these powders may leach calcium from the bones

Bodybuilding mentality: the worse something tastes, the better it is for you.

As lucia316 mentioned, the thickness of protein blends works much better for cooking, baking, making sludge, mixing in oats, etc. I see proof of this every day when I get my Trutein fix.

I thought I read somewhere that blends weren't the best (still very doable, though) for baking in particular.

Regardless, Trutein is a great choice. One of the best tasting on the market.

That protein might not taste the best though. I think it is well worth it to spend the extra $5 or 10 and get something that you wouldn't mine drinking one or more times a day.

With Trutein, the thickness of casein helps with binding, and the egg and whey make sure the food still rises properly. The result is always perfect fluffiness. I don't believe there is a better product on the market for cooking applications.

Agreed, my baking/cooking always comes out perfectly when using Trutein, and I haven't found a protein that works nearly as good. The flavor of Trutein is also bold enough, that it shines through in whatever you are making as well - Trutein pancakes are a staple for me, and I always love to change up the flavors.
