I was just wondering - does swimming help you be taller than normally?

My mom is 5'7. So is my dad, im currently 5'10 and i've stopped growing at 13 ish. im almost 15 now... although in my country its kinda rare to see a 6'2+ guy but still the average is around 5'10-5'11. I'd at least want to be 6 foot and thats the only reason why i havent started lifting - i dont want it to screw up my growth.

Anyways, to the point. I've been swimming for 6 years, 6 hours a week + two fitness hours which is usually jogging, push ups and some regular stuff.

So if i continue swimming (which i will - i love it) is there a chance that i'd at least hit 6'0? Of course i'd like to be 6'1 since thats the perfect height in my opinion but thats kinda unrealistic.

and if anyone is wondering how i'm 5'10 - i have a theory... my mom's brother who is 6'2~6'3 (190cm) and his parents were 5'5 (father) and 5'1 (mother), so maybe i got the height from him? ehh, i dont know

some help\opinions would be great though

It is very common to be taller than your parents. Just because your parents are a certain height, doesn't mean that is the range you will end up in.

Also, swimming doesn't make you grow taller and weight lifting doesn't stunt your growth. You have a genetic footprint that has already determined your height. You can't make yourself any taller than what your genetic limit is. There are things such as mal-nutrition/improper nutrition and drugs that can stunt your growth. But that is mostly in the toddler age range. You are passed that. The only way to find out if you are done growing is to go to a doctor and have and xray of your hands.

Well I am sure you are going to have to see a specialist for that. But you also would have to get a referral by your general care doctor. But there is really no point in you doing all that. It will probably cost you a lot of money if you even get approved for that to be done. Your height is your height. Nothing you can do about that. Your focus should be on your healthy and physique, not something you can't control, like your height.

did you grow? how tall are you now? i know this is a ittle out of date but, of course you can grow by swimming and doing excersice, and more if you are 15, in this thread you are 15, at that age the growth plates have not fused yet, so you would still have some 3 years of growth
