I have seen a few videos on the youtubes that said neck exercises are a must because if your neck looks twiggley/sickly/betamaleish it will make you look like chit, should I listen to these beta phgts and do neck exercises?

What is your goal?
Strength,looks,both?
I personally believe some neck muscularity sets you apart from the average person.
It makes you look more athletic and can help in some situations like accidents where the neck can be whipped around and injured.
You don't need to go crazy but train it with light to moderate weight for reps.

I can't imagine any direct neck exercise, progressively overloaded over time for actual progress, is anything other than a terrible, terrible idea.
That general area does get worked with a lot of normal compound movements like OHP and pullups. If you like the "yolked" look, you can do some extra trap work with something like shrugs. Or don't, if you prefer ottermode look without yolked traps. Figure out your own preferences, instead of listening to the various ramblings in the misc.Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=169283793

You can do progressive overload on the neck, alpha destiny swears by it. Hes added multiple inches to his neck doing direct neck work.
OP start with 3x100 neck crunches everyday, for a month and go from there. Youtube alpha destiny neck training and he has tips on it.Healthcare Crew
