Where is the Ironmaster Super Bench manufactured?

Ive tried searching the internet Ive tried searching the forums and have been unable to find any info on where the Super Bench is made. Thier website says designed and engineered in USA but that does not nessasarly mean it is manufactured there. Can anyone who owns one help me out on this.

Here's my $.02 on the subject...

If they made a point to say "designed and engineered in USA", they surely would've mentioned if it were made in the US. Companies who manufacture products in the USA are generally pretty proud of that fact, and will mention it every chance they get.

Hmm, never thought about checking where the bench's made, will report back when I get home.

Prepare to be disappointed though, since every single time I've seen "designed in the USA", it's followed by "Made in China."

It surprises me how many people refuse to buy equipment from Elitefts because its too expensive but they will buy equipment from their competitors, then continue to go on EFS website to educate themselves for FREE

The bench I bought last fall did not have an sticker of origin on it, but I believe their plates are made in China, while everything else (bench, attachments, and dumbbell handles) is made in Taiwan.

If you look up public import records for IronMaster, LLC, you'll find a number of import logs from China that are listed as "dumbbell plates", while everything else appears to be from Taiwan. There was an import in September of last year from Taiwan that was listed as "exercise equipment". I tried getting more details on that shipment but couldn't find anything.

Contacting IronMaster directly is still your best bet.

There was a time when "made in Japan" meant junk, now it means quality. I think China has the manufacturing muscle and know-how to make products at any level of quality - look at everything electronic. If the US importers want junk that they can sell by slick advertising, China is at the ready to meet their specs.

Very unfortunately with our huge decline in consumer product manufacturing, we may reach a point where the know-how is not there anymore, and the manufacturing jobs themselves will pay too low to attract the talent that they used to. At that point "made in America" will mean junk.

Workforces in a communist/socialist nations have little incentive to make quality products (except for weapons perhaps) or take pride in their work... the government will take care of the peoples every need (a lie). Why make a well built product or take pride in their work if the state/government has their back? Cut corners, save money, take the easy path. Don't need to work any harder than the next person. The United States of America is heading in same direction to where we want to let the government watch over and take care for our every need.

That said, the bench I have was made per order in a warehouse here in the USA (Pendlay). The quality is great. Sure there are better benches, but this was a solid purchase and worth the money. Sadly, my Pendlay bumper plates were made in China. And as far as I know, other than high temps, I think all bumpers are made in China. Pendlay bumpers say USA in big bold letters on the side.

my point? I don't have one.

Those workers are not living in good conditions. Quality is not their concern, eating is. The people really responsible for bad quality are the management who live in ok conditions. They'll shave off every expense to make something that looks like a product because money spent vs volume produced is the metric they're judged by.
