I recall the second half opening with a record tying runback. Bmore had the momentum going into halftime and immediately grabbed it out of the gates for second half, that's really all there is to it. The 30+ minute delay in the game broke that up, and SF got their **** back together. May be that SF woulda scored right after that runback and that would have been the momentum break, but the power outage was the pivotal moment in the shift, so I credit it.

So somehow that return would have allowed them to score more points within some sort of magic window had they kept playing? Or else somehow helped the defense stop SF? And because that magic window closed during the blackout, the skills and offensive play calling diminished, and the defense was also affected by this? I just want to make sure I'm fully grasping this argument you're putting forward.
Personally I think it didn't matter one bit because god wanted ray lewis to win another superbowl.Who was this love of yours?

Anyone acting like the outcome of last night's game came down to that Crabtree pass is retarded. Jim was inside the 5 and called 3 straight passes to Crabtree despite 2 of their 3 TDs came on runs.

It's a turning point, it allowed SF to collect themselves after another demoralizing punch to the gut. You go in at halftime and you're like alright, we can still do this, just need to come back out there, stop them, and turn it around. Then you take the field and boom, they put up another 7. That **** is demoralizing, athletes can tell you this. Give yourself 30 mins to recoop, and the blow is less immediate and felt less.
It's not like this is some crazy concept I am inventing, just google power outage momentum shift.Master of karate, and friendship, for everyone crew.

Mike, stfu. TAAB already hit the nail on the head when he said God wanted the Ravens to win.
It has nothing to do with momentum and everything to do with believing. Believing in a higher power that wants a double murdering, deer antler spraying, gangsta of God, to win another superbowl before the lord brings him to be seated at his left.I remove my shirt to poop crew

This.
Momentum is an overused term and overcredited concept. These are professional athletes. A random event may have a negligible impact on some portion of the game, but it isn't going to determine the outcome. The players still play and the coaches still coach. No hocus pocus necessary.Who was this love of yours?

Well it appears the rant does not believe in momentum in professional sports. Whatever, I do. I think it affects players.
Ravens running back Ray Rice: “Honestly, for myself, I was a little stiff when I got back out there. It was about an hour because if you think … halftime was 30 minutes. Then we got out there and Jacoby took one back. Then, the power goes out and that’s another 30 minutes. So the offense is sitting there for an hour.
“Was it tough getting back out there? It was pretty tough but I’m glad we were able to finish the game and be world champions.”
Ravens fullback Vonta Leach: “It got us off-track. We weathered the storm and came out of there with the victory.”
Ravens safety Ed Reed: “The bad part was, we started talking about it. That was mentioned. It was like they were trying to kill our momentum. It was like, ‘There are two teams on this field!’ Once we started talking, it happened. We had to refocus, and we did.”
Ravens offensive tackle Michael Oher: “It was crazy. We got cold on the sidelines. We started off cold in the second half. The defense came through for us and we got the win.”
Ravens safety Bernard Pollard: “That was crazy. That was my first. It slowed us down a little bit but at the same time we kept playing. They scored 17 straight points but we stayed together. We were upset, but we stayed together.”
Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta: “It seemed to come at the perfect time for the 49ers. We had a ton of momentum and the power went out just after we returned a kick. It felt like the power was out forever and it was hard to get going after that.Master of karate, and friendship, for everyone crew.

Only time I really believe in momentum is in baseball. A pitcher falters prematurely and gets shelled, then they start running middle-relievers out there who probably didn't get to properly warm up, and subsequent shelling happens, until the 3rd or 4th reliever can put the fire out.
edit: I do think a 30 minute break ikn the middle of a game can throw individuals off. But to completely throw off an entire team and invigorate another, seems retarded to me.-

Momentum obviously has influence, there is no doubt about it. But since they'd just come back from halftime anyway I don't think it was that big of a game changer. In any event, athletes in all kinds of sports have to deal with stuff like that. Cautions / Red flags in auto racing, event delays in track & field, rain delays in baseball, etc.

I will say this, both QBs played awesome. Flacco earned his self proclaimed "eliteness" with his performance in the playoffs, and the superbowl. Some of the throws he made were ridiculous.
Pumpernickel also played very, very well.I remove my shirt to poop crew

They should make football games with F1 cars. The F1 cars would race to the end zone, to and fro, across the wet dewy grass, to score a touchdown. That way, everyone is a special winner.
