Great day, managed to do legs in the gym without a curler in the curl rack and just set a new time in my static bike challenge. Managed to cycle 10 miles (16.09km) in 17 minutes 35 seconds, averaging 34-37 mph for the full time, inb4 quads of peace.

You better break 4 hours, you lazy bum! I won't even fool around with stopping at the half, it isn't worth it to me at this point. I have already done this half 2 times, and I am not even worried about it. I'll probably pick up and do the Little Rock full in March, if you're interested in hopping the Mississippi and doing some running.
I run in Arkansas. If you are into trail running check out the Sylamore 25k and 50k in Mountain View, AR in February. Great race they cap it at 400 racers since it's on a mostly single track trail. I'll check out the Little Rock Marathon.

If you decide not to run and sell your bib there are NO refunds for race entries but you can get your money back by selling it to another racer and your race entry fee still goes to the charity. Mile 3 or 4 through the hospital is very moving for me emotionally when I see the kids/patients outside cheering us runners on. #Mantears

I'll skip the beer at mile 6 this year. Turned bad on my last year as you might expect.

Going to the doc today about some knee pain. Hopefully a shot will fix it.

wtf? that is elite TT level. Heck thats faster than team TTs in grand tours and they are in full aero gear. Must be putting out insane wattage.

    Lots of downhill i guess?

edit: nvm saw static bike. changes things a little

Just a Type-A for anything physical my wife loves it...HELLOOOO!!!

Yeah, I will probably just keep riding and forego any more races for 2013. Just train and focus on hitting a good marathon race weight for March.

Roger that, I'll check those races out! And yeah, the St. Jude's hospital being there definitely tugs at the old heart strings. Kids getting cancer just isn't right.

You drank the beer? You drank the beer?!?! Lawd....I know what I would do... (end up sitting at mile 6 and 'avin a giggle at those poor suckers running while i get tanked).

You aren't allowed to have knee pain, ya hear? Only 1 of us is allowed that, and I have it under control!

16 mile run this mornin. Lawwwwd. It was so effing muggy. We slowed our pace a lot and took a lot of walking water stops. I drank an absurd amount of water and still managed to lose 5 pounds. Forgot how fun it was to shower after a long run and see all the places you miss with the body glide, ouch.

Also - did not expect to see a body being dragged from the Potomac River! There were at least 2-3 cop cars, and 2 ambulances on the trail. When we ran by, there was a cop taking notes on 2 gloves just laying on the side of the trail. About 1-2 miles later all SORTS of cops/medics/police boats were at the local boat house and they were putting a body on a stretcher with a white sheet over it. Been trying to find the news story on it, but can't seem to find anything yet.

Any of you guys have any crazy stories from stuff you've seen? I also saw a guy fall off a bus and split his head open, blood running down the sidewalk. Was pretty gross.

After biking for thirty minutes I wanted to see if I could run and see if my AT got better. Ran ten minutes. No pain. Wasn't bad at all. Now I am debating on whether I should ease back into running or should I forget it for a bit and just bike.
    Any feedback is appreciated.

Arun why not do sprints? That's all I can honestly think to help your speed besides running more. Maybe if your form isnt right then you could fix it and that would help your running as well. Good luck Man.

First half marathon race today. Finished in 1:59:17. My goal was under 2 hours (in training I ran it in 2:05 and 2:09) so I'm really happy. Definitely didn't have anything left in the tank at the end. Really puts in perspective how much losing 20 pounds would be beneficial.

Finally rained in phoenix last night, tons of lightning and some wind. And guess what, i was out there. Didn't run for long, less than two miles (still a newb + ran earlier at gym), but dam did it feel good. love crappy weather. I always make an effort to run if it starts raining, whether i had planned to or not.

I'm not big in to running on a regular basis because I'm constantly battling to put on weight but last year my wife talked me into doing a 5k with her and I made it in 24 minutes which is pretty bad but it was fun and I'm just glad I made it since I didn't train at all. We also did a 10k night time trail run where you had to wear a head lamp and there was beer stops in addition to water stops and that was a lot of fun.

Last weekend we did the Spartan Sprint race in PA and that was awesome, I think that's my new favorite kind of race to do, definitely want to sign up for some other obstacle course races now

Best feeling ever is to know you didn't have anything left to give. Also - any time that ends in a 9 is always good mentally for me!

Does anyone know of a good guide for triathlon training? Something with a basic routine (I'm imagining if Couch to 5K and Starting Strength had a baby it would be something like that... kinda)

just finished 9 miles, I want to keep adding up my weekly mileage but I'm use to running 4-5 days week but ever since I started mountain biking I've been riding 2 days and running 3 days a week. I have to figure out some type of routine since my legs start to feel heavy on certain runs.

3rd 6 miler, I'm going to try to hit 7 miles next week.

I just ran a completely new route and it brought a bit of new energy to the table. At the beginning of the run I was starting to think that this was getting boring, but it really seems like those first 1-2 miles always suck for a variety of reasons.

Yea, the first few miles are usually the hardest to get through. I usually try to focus on posture/form for the first few minutes to get through it.

I'll try to run tonight if it doesn't rain to bad. Went to the doc friday and got a shot to take care of some knee pain.
