    Red face How much cardio?

I was just curious how much cardio you ladies do? I do HIIT on treadmill(1 min walking and I min running) for 20-25 minutes/six days a week before starting my weight training. At times when I dont feel like running, I do walking 6km/hr for 20mins on 10% inclined. Personally, I hate cardio and I know that sounds bad and I still have two-three kgs to loose.

I am completely opposite...I would much rather do cardio. Not for fatloss, but it makes me get my day started. It depends on the time of the year for me. Around March I would do about 45 mins 4-5 days a week. Now I am doing 3 days of running or stairmaster for 30-40 mins.

I prefer weight lifting. I weight lift on Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fridays... I'll probably do cardio for 20-30 mins on Saturdays & Sundays.

Bulking atm so none for me either.

When I do cardio it's always HIIT, 20 minutes on either the stepmill or treadmill at full incline.

Sometimes I will go for a 30-40 minute run with my mom but that is for her benefit more than mine.

IF I do cardio, 15-20 minutes of HIIT on stationary bike, treadmill or elliptical. Currently bulking so the only cardio I do is warm-up. I use to run 20miles a week and loved it but now I would rather lift.

I don't have a problem with cardio, but it's never the main tool when it comes to fat loss. Your nutrition will be key to the whole process.

True HITT sessions don't go over 20 min. If you're going longer, you're not doing HITT.

I haven't done any cardio in years. I lift heavy, using shorter rest periods and control my fat loss though diet.

I agree. I wouldn't use cardio as a fat loss tool, I would do it for general cardiovascular health, which you can achieve with 30 minutes 5 to 6 days a week. Diet is the key to fat loss.

I used to only do cardio but once I started lifting Ive sulked when someone suggests cardio, though I do want to start running again so I can have some fun with things like the colour run, warrior dash, tough mudder etc....

When I do its only 20min and after weights, always.. No way am I tiring myself out before my weights...

I do 2o - 40 mins. 3-5 days a week but am going to cut it and focus on lifting. I don't enjoy cardio at all other than classes like Spin, Zumba or just dancing on my own.

Personally I think it all depends on your goals.... If your trying to lose weight you need to do a little more cardio, however if you eat a little cleaner then what you are already doing you can afford to go a little lighter on the cardio.

Cardio can very effective for weight loss. Ultimately you need to burn more calories than you consume for weight loss. A 2 mile run can knock off 250 cals in less than 20 minutes.

If I'm bulking I do none. Jus started my cut so aiming for 20min 3-4x a week. Lifting gave me way better results for fat loss than cardio ever did.

Lifting=burning calories+gaining muscle=burning more calories while doing nothing=greater fat loss

I only have limited gym time so that was my rational to cut cardio when I was a weightlifting noob

That's nice for some...when I run 2 miles I burn less than 100 calories. Cardio becomes less effective the better you get at it, and the less you weigh.

I run 5 days a week @ 30 to 55 minutes each time. I love my cardio and I do know it's good for the heart and lungs. I always do it before I lift. I do the lifting later.

I do none at the moment other than a 5-minute warmup. Lifting gets my heart rate up and to be honest, at the moment I am too stuffed after lifting to do cardio anyway!

I run 4-5x a week doing 4 miles each day, it takes me between 35-37 mins to do it. I burn between 415-450 cals depending on the pace that I run or if I decide to run a little longer. I love to run and it helps me stay in shape. I am not lifting at the moment so this is what I do to stay in shape. I am also cutting so it just helps me out.

Six days a week sounds excessive to me, but if it works for you, great. I usually do hiit once a week and slower cardio three times a week. I also walk for transportation, which is about 15-20 miles a week.

I enjoy cardio. I do cardio 5 days a week. Mon-thu I get up and do 45-60mins before work and sundays I do step aerobics. It helps me get my day started during the work week. It's like my morning cup of coffee without the caffine LOL.

    ^^^ so much this. sigh

I am doing my first cut and aiming for 3 x 12 minute HIIT a week (20 sec hard, 40 sec easy) on the spin bike or elliptical usually. It blows.
As soon as I am lean cardio will be stripped completely as I am only doing it for caloric burn.
