I have only got 1 flu shot in my life and it was because my work forced me to. After the shot was also coincidentally the sickest I have ever been. I recommend vitamin d3 for prevention and good hand washing. Stay out of overly crowded areas if you can. Look at the world wide maps. Its not a coincidence where people are getting the most sun (vit d) the less flu there is.

While I don't disagree with taking supplemental vitamin D for general health purposes, your implications towards the flu shot causing you to be sick are horribly wrong.

Brahs other day was lifting with a sore throat then half way through my strength just dropped. only could do 2 reps of dips wtf....

friend dropped my home and i passed out, stayed at home yesterday and all day was cold, chills, headache, body was jello, throbbing headache.

Dad called the doc and made an appointment for today at 4pm

Took 1 more day off today just to be sure, and took a nap and now im feeling a lot better. Should I just call and cancel it? its 1:42pm right now

I wash my hands 9-10 times a day and use hand sanitizer a few times/day as well.

I was in bed from Jan 1st to Jan 3rd...fever, chills, sweats, dry cough, sore as F...finally on the 4th (temp was 101 in the morning) I went to the doctor and the place was FULL of people coughing all over the place. They swabbed me for strep, which came back negative, and gave me a 10 day prescription for amoxicillin and sent me on my way. It had been at least 15 years since I took an antibiotic so I figured I'd take them...Been getting progressively better ever since.

Through the whole thing, I've taken 500mg of Vitamin C per day, and drinking tons of fluids.

My wife came down with it on about the 5th of January and spent a day in bed and was better the next day. My son (3 and a half) didn't even get a cough, but he did get a flu shot earlier this year...go figure. I was against the flu shot and my wife was for it...I'm now glad he got it.

The truth is, the flu sucks balls but if you're a normal, healthy person, I don't think it's all that bad...as long as you're not a small child or elderly, of course. I would have been fine even if I didn't go to the doctors but I stayed home from work and figured I'd bring in an excuse just in case anyone there wondered.

If you're sick and have sick time...STAY THE F HOME. This is why it's spreading so much, too many people out there, mainly in busy retail environments shopping around, coughing all over everyone and everything around them.

I keep hearing about all these people having the flu but aside from a few girls on fb/twitter claiming how sick they are (which is every girl every day lol) I haven't seen any of it.

All I can attest too is 2 weeks ago fri morning I work up and had the "body aches" / shivers / cold sweats for a few hours at work. Since then I've had a sore throat/cough for a few days and a stuff/runny nose for at least 2 weeks now.

Can it be possible that was my bout with the flu? If so good for me. I NEVER have gotten a flu shot, and when I was little I used to get destroyed by the flu every winter. I feel like that gave me a diesel immune system.

Work at a hospital and its fuarking packed with flu patients. Every phucking room is contact precaution it seems and all the floors smell like absolute chit from all the diarrhea.

I don't know if it is too late to get the flu shot, but if you haven't gotten it I STRONGLY urge you to do so. The flu is a lot more serious than most people think.

I am just getting over it (I hope) and was only seriously sick for 2-3 days, and I was likely only briefly sick due to getting the shot. I also had chest pain/pressure one of the days, but I just slept it off. I should have gone to the doctor/hospital with this symptom alone.

Don't believe the stupid misinformation about not getting flu shots or flu shots containing mercury or idiotic things like that. There is literally no reason to not get a flu shot. You are not only potentially saving your own life but also the lives of others who may not be able to fight it as well on their own.

Are you aware that the flu shot only protects you against that one strain?

The flu going around in the US this year is a new strain we haven't seen so the flu shot doesn't protect you.
