Gladly! I do a weekly carb up because it primes my energy levels for the next week of heavy lifting. During the induction phase, I did 2 weeks straight keto and by day 10/11, I was completely zapped energy wise. I am in a position where I am an overweight lifter still in the "Beginner" stage so I have the ability to gain muscle while losing fat. To gain muscle, I need to keep improving/increasing the weight on the bar, and I feel like I can only accomplish that by carbing up. It also helps reset leptin which is a good thing and helps me psychologically by allowing me to eat some foods that I've avoided during the week. It's what makes the Cyclical Ketogenic Diet (CKD), cyclical!

NICE source there bro! The ONLY thing I question is where he says not to exceed BMR on your re-feed....that's inaccurate, especially when he links to Lyle McDonald's site. My BMR is 2100. My TDEE is roughly 3300. My daily calorie goal is 2300cals. If you eat below your BMR, you WILL lose muscle. PERIOD. NOT the goal of a bodybuilder on CKD. Essentially, the idea is to not exceed TDEE! Also, Lyle discusses in depth how you can achieve glycogen-supercompensation and he recommends upwards of 900gCarbs!!! You could put an entire Panara out of business on ONE carb up! Or in my case, a Krispy Kreme! (only slightly not srs). GREAT article nonetheless and it covers all the basics.

Had a great weekend guys. Had two buddies spend the weekend at my house (Live with 4 other roommates). Kept myself in keto the entire time! all my buddies were having pizza non stop and it was so hard not to eat a slice or two, but I fought it, and made it through to complete 2 weeks on keto today. I'm hoping keto gets easier this week. I feel like i am starting to see some transformations so that has been great motivation. Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

I ALMOST ordered pizza on Friday night, but did the smart thing and got SubWay instead. If I had ordered that pizza two things would have happened, one good, one bad: 1) My inner Ninja Turtle would have been STOKED about the 'za! and, 2) I would have had pizza lying around the house tempting me the rest of the weekend.

Impressive strongman Jaxlifter!!!! we will get their eventually!!!
to my boy Aesir, just get back to hard work and don't worry, one of the worst ways to derail a successful habit is to dwell to much on past mistakes or successes, just log what works(DA DATA) and move onwards to better and higher goals!!
To pryor, I am just going to say that Raph is likely the best fighter, but I love each one for their own unique attributes

I loved both shows. Leonardo was my favorite turtle. I had the van too, and a few other turtles + splinter. Rocksteady and Bebop as well.

Well guys, little bad news, little good. My mom sent me out a package which had two packages of redvines (favorite kind of licorice) bad news is I ate both. And I'm definetly out of keto. I ate them because mentally I was in a good place and decided to eat them then and get them out of my sight. The good news is I didn't even want them. I knew how bad they were for me, but I wanted to eat them under my own power instead of a sugar craving. I hope to be back in keto in a couple days as I will be doing heavy cardio next couple days and back to strict diet. Though I did screw up, I feel axxomplished at how i know and want to be back on track for tomorrow. Please forgive me guys! Lol.

It's funny you mention licorice. I have a tub of Redvines licorice sitting on my counter right now. They're supposed to be my pre-wo carbs. Haven't gotten around to eating them since I've been feeling pretty strong. My little bro's been bugging me for em though. I would send em to you but that would just be wrong....I don't wanna set you up like that bro! lol don't worry about your little slip though. Keep pushing towards the mark. You got this my dude!

Thanks boss! And to clarify, as it relates to Ninja Turtles desiring pizza, there is only one: Michaelangelo. Not my FAV, but in the tense I used it, the orange dude takes the lead!
