Let's call the whole thing off.
I dispensed with the middle part of the song-and-verse.
"Don't call me Miss Kitty. Just...don't."--Catnip. Check out the Catnip Trilogy on Amazon.com
"Chivalry isn't dead. It just wears a skirt."--Twisted, the YA gender bender deal of the century!
Check out my links to Mr. Taxi, Star Maps, and other fine YA Action/Romance novels at http://www.amazon.com/J.S.-Frankel/e/B004XUUTB8/ref=dp_byline_cont_ebooks_1

Being Australian rather than American I say to-mar-to. I don't think anyone outside America (apart form Americans abroad) says to-may-to.
But I would of thought most yanks said to-may-to its just the Amercan accent thats all. A yank saying to-mar-to instead of to-may-to would just sound wrong. If you are going to speak with an American accent then you really need to do it properly and say to-may-to.
(PS: When I was 7 I came back to Australia from Kenya speaking with a full on American accent thanks to having gone to a school for Americam missionary kids - Rift Valley Academy- so as a kid I said to-may-to myself. But now I couldn't speak with an American accent if my life depended on it, except I do remember how to say tomatoe in American).
What really gets me though is that Americans call my car a 300 Zee X instead of a 300 Zed X. That just sounds so wrong. "Zed X" is cool, "Zee X " is not.

You know what brother, it doesn't matter much. When you want a slice, you want a slice! Call the damned things whatever you like. Just where the hell did the tomato, to-mah-to, tomate, come from? Wherever...God bless the ground it was grown on! Ha ha They're good eating!
And nobody has even mentioned 'fried green tomatoes!' Thick corn bread batter, in freakin' lard ~ cast iron skillet on top of the stove!!! Or broiled red ones, like they do in England for a good hearty breakfast. God!!! I love the things.paolo59

I don't know where it comes from but I say ta-may-ter. Neighbors and friends laugh at me. Family doesn't say it that way. Not just the red veg either. Other o=ending words as in, "Close the winder you're lettin' miskeeters in". Probably has somethin to do with the dyslexia.
And dam those donuts look good!
