Kaepernic will be the worst thing that ever happened to San Fran

the team will be fine as long as alex smith is on the sidelines but once they trade or release alex smith then kaepernick will be the worst starting qb in the league, san fran will become 3 and out artists, defensive talent will leave in free agency, and the coach will eventually get fired as the 9ers slowly fade into a typical 2-5 win team.

Strong wizard potential but I highly highly highly doubt it.

    Two things:

    1. Never any San Fran homers in sight, only legit knowledgeable fans
    2. If by "homers" you mean fans, we haven't gone anywhere. We're still posting.

I don't see any big defensive shifts on the 49ers until 2017-2018

I dont think hes the most amazing thing everyone makes him out to be. He's started a few games, hasnt looked amazing in all of them, and honestly to me the jury should still be out if he was the right choice anyways.

Smith, while not the best, was playing great, and it wasnt him that cost them the game last year, it was special teams. If not for retarded special teams they would have been in the super bowl. Its just a weird thing to change a QB near the end of the season, that was playing great, and just wing it on the "potential" of a rookie and you dont even know if he can handle the pressure or not. Alex handled the pressure last year; special teams lost the game.

Time will tell if Kaep can handle it or not. I mean he couldn't handle fan pressure last night.

Still upset that the soon to be worst QB in the league sh*t all over that much improved Patriots defense?

And I don't think you want to talk about homers...very few of us thought it would be an easy win vs Seattle yet countless of Patriot "fans" were laughing at the idea that the game vs SF would even be close.

Really another one? Honestly how many of you are still looking at the QB ratings and seeing Smith there and just assuming he's some sort of stud?

Alex wasn't undefeated as a QB and just because Kyle williams' fumble cost them that game doesn't mean that what Alex did in the middle of it was something to praise.

Teams know what the 49ers are doing when Alex is out there. They don't have to worry about the deep ball at all and if the niners can't get their run game going he just doesn't have much to offer. He's a great guy and a good QB when things are going well but when the D has an off day and the running game is forgotten or non existent then Alex has a tough road ahead of him.

Did nobody watch the Giants game this year? There were several articles written about how the Giants knew where he was going with the ball and Alex was confused during the game, being quoted as saying "he wasn't supposed to be there". He was the major reason they lost that game. Colin so far hasn't had a game close to that.

The giants raped your defense ON THE GROUND.

Strong blaming Alex Smith and not your poverty defense, or the incredible rushing of 80 total yards by your running backs.

Nah bro, nothing is Kaeps fault when he loses but Alex Smith deserves NO CREDIT and ALL BLAME.

Did you miss the part where I said he wasnt the greatest? Where did I say he was a stud? And where the hell is it written that Kaep is a stud? Just because he won a few games? He's not Tom Brady or something out there either, and hasn't looked super amazing in a few of the FEW starts he has.

So they know what he has to offer. How long before they know what Kaep has to offer? This dude is completely unproven, yet you guys ride him like the 2nd coming. Alex was playing pretty good before his concussion. He also didnt throw the game away last year, that was special teams. Games come down to the end. Errors at the end of games hurt far worse the errors at the beginning. Special teams did lose that game for them.

You cant make errors like that at the end of games. They are recoverable first half, etc. But not at the end. So yes, the plays that actually directly lost them the game was on special teams.

We will see if this was a right choice or not come playoff time. I just dont think changing a QB for POTENTIAL only near the end of the season (one that was playing well) was the smartest thing to do not knowing how this new guy handles pressure. He could go into the playoff and flop for all his potential. Just seems like a choice to make next year, not this one. But I may be wrong. We wont know till playoff time.

But just because he has potential doesnt mean hes 1000x the QB Smith is. People get drafted or used for their potential all the time and never realize it. Look I like Kaep, but it seems he is being crowned this amazing QB all of a sudden for what he might do instead of what he's done. Has he even put up as decent numbers as Smith? I mean thats all we had to go on really, is numbers. A few wins is meaningless this early on. Hell, Smith was winning.

Maybe it was cuz i watched the game I may know what I'm talking about? I'll blame Kaep when it's his fault. Just like I'll blame Alex when it's his fault. Dude threw for 200 yards and 3 picks with no touchdowns...but yeah it's on the D. Cuz they didn't have to defend a short field or anything?

Btw Kaepernick threw for 82 yards in that game on 4 completions. It took Alex 19 to get to 200 yards. But yeah....Alex is easily the better player.

I don't even know why I'm wasting my time with you. I should just avoid you since you love talking about things you clearly don't comprehend. You may just be the first person I put on ignore just to save my sanity.

First of all nobody is crowning Kap as this amazing QB. If someone has done that it's probably fans of other teams who saw him against the Pats or Bears. But it doesn't take a rocket science to see the kid has potential and if you take the blinders off he has played pretty well given the playcalling and the teams he's going up against. He's young, smart, hardworking and has all the physical tools. Why wouldn't 49er fans think he can be a good qb? If you tell me one trait he doesn't have that defines a good QB then we'll talk.

And I agree that the special teams fumble was what lost them the game but it still doesnt' excuse the inability to move the ball during the game so it wouldn't have to come down to it. The 49ers D totally clamped down on the Giants in that second half and Alex and the offense did nothing with it.

I already said I like Alex, he's a great team guy but I've watched him play for many years for my team and I know his limitations. What makes him a "safe" choice is also what hurts the offense. He refuses to throw to guys who aren't wide open. Sometimes you have to trust your receivers to make plays on the ball and you have to take chances sometimes. That doesn't mean throwing intro triple coverage but Alex just won't air it out unless it's doom or die like in the Saints game. Problem is every time he'd show up like that everyone thought "now he gets it" and yet next game he goes right back to not making those throws.

My point with all of this is Jim Harbaugh knows what it takes to be a QB in this league. He's done a lot for Alex's career. He sees these guys in practice and he knows what they're made up of on the field and in their heads. Obviously his decision was no a popular one but maybe he knows something we do not?

Given his track record with QBs and what he's done for the 49ers, I'm certainly going to trust him.

You may just be the first person I put on ignore just to save my sanity.

so you think kaps is better because he threw 80 yards in 4 tries and alex threw 200 in 20 tires?

and you wonder why your D is on the field the whole game panting like tired dogs

brb 2 time outs because he cant get the playoff in time
brb 2 more delay of games
brb throwing VD into a concussion
brb 20+ yard sacks every game
brb cant even throw for more yards then smith but hes elite down field passer?
brb he pissed his pants vs the hawks
brb if gore cant run he has no idea wtf to do or nor can sustain a drive on his own unlike alex who can manhandle a 2min offense

So are you seriously going to pretend that the 200 yards in 20 tries is better?

How can I take you seriously when you make those statements and then add that you watched most 9er games? Anyone who watched the niner games with Alex knows that they have the same issues getting plays called on time.

brb 2 time outs because he cant get the playoff in time - same **** happened with Alex
brb 2 more delay of games - ditto
brb throwing VD into a concussion - yes wtf was he thinking trying to throw a TD. VD could've avoided that hit, pretty sure he didn't have to jump up to catch the ball.
brb 20+ yard sacks every game - 1 sack for 12 yards is better than 4 sacks for 38 yards. You really don't want to get into this argument. Alex ate sacks like a champ.
brb cant even throw for more yards then smith but hes elite down field passer? - averaging more yards passing per start but somehow cannot throw for more yards than Smith? Interdesting
brb he pissed his pants vs the hawks - and yet he still played better against them at their house than Alex did against them in San Fran
brb if gore cant run he has no idea wtf to do or nor can sustain a drive on his own unlike alex who can manhandle a 2min offense - lol you're really going to act like Alex has good games when the running game is stuffed?

Keep on hating but don't pretend you watch 9er games when you're spitting such nonsense.

Lol they have a very solid core of young players(some who are among the best at their positions) locked up long term, one of the best head coaches in football, and a young qb showing ridiculous potential.

I personally don't think they'll win a championship this year, but they'll be an elite team for the next several years.

I just dont think changing a QB for POTENTIAL only near the end of the season (one that was playing well) was the smartest thing to do not knowing how this new guy handles pressure. smith has been a starter for 6-7 years, we know what he is, A GAME MANAGER

he didnt lose the game against the giants last year but he sure as hell didnt do anything to win it. he had his chance in ot and did nothing. look smith was a number 1 overall pick, he has never played like it or come close. qb ratings dont mean jack ****, we know what he can and cant do. hes not a playmaker, if the niners are down 14 in the fourth we know theres no chance of them coming back. kaep is young but the upside is tremendous, hes simply better then alex in every way except experience. the 49ers cant win with just defense and specials teams this year, there not as good as last year which means the offense has to step up. i mean look at the pats game, smith has never had a game like that. i like alex, hes a cool dude but hes a limited qb and thats a fact. this team cant take the next step without a qb change

Kaepernick has no touch on his passes and constantly zones in on one receiver. Look at the difference between Wilson and Kaepernick. Wilson knows when to lob the ball or when to throw a bullet. Kaepernick does not.
