Spent a couple days on a mini-vacation in NYC. Despite a good bit of drinking and no counting of calories (instead I danced with the devil and tried to eat healthy...go ahead and do it, ask me 'what is healthy,' I know you want to), the only significant damage I did was to my bank account. Gained a little bit over the last 48 hours, but I probably had about 73X more salt than usual in that time period.

$20 for 2 eggs, bacon, and a cup of coffee.

Never been to NYC but from what I understand it's very expensive compared to most places. Ouch.
I get 2 eggs, bacon, hasbrowns and 3 large pancakes for less than $10 here, though I have not done that in quite some time.

Its similar to Vegas. Might as well dine at the buffet, going to any diner for breakfast will cost as much or more..

Having a lot of success with full day fasts. After a while not eating for a day is simple. Average calories this month so far 2010. Average calories last month 4081. haha

NYC is awfully expensive when it comes to food. Vegas is either really expensive or really cheap, depending on where you go. I don't mind paying for good food, but don't care for over-priced food.

Well the results are in. So looks like we lost another 25 competitors this week. We are down to 116 from our initial 161 entrants. Before long, we'll be down more than half the beginning entrants. This should motivate you even more to stay focused and stick to your goals!

As we move into our third week, I hope you guys keep up the hard work. You're only 9 weeks away from the finish line! Also, rather than type out all the stats, I'll just post a screen shot from the spreadsheet.

Well, although the scale this week went up a pound, I managed to fit into a button down shirt that I've never been able to fit in since I bought it (ordered it online and figured I'd keep it and it would make me want to lose fat).

Feels good, hopefully there'll be a change in the scales this week. *fingers crossed*

Yup this is what I figured. Hopefully I lose some weight on the scale this week and don't have to worry about recalculating my calories. The start of this competition for me is basically trying to understand where my calories sit, cause I've never counted calories accurately. Sooner or later I will be certain of being on the right track.

As you said though, I hope it is just water weight, because in a previous post I ate a Subway cheesesteak and a bit of prepackaged flavored rice the 2 days before weigh in. both fit into my macros but hopefully I just held some more water because of it.

Well I weighed myself again this morning and weighed in at 184.5. That was 2.5 lbs lost over night. Surely water weight from my vacation, I can not explain it any other way. Or perhaps my scale sucks.

Hard to believe 24 pounds in 2 weeks for someone that's only in the 215-225 range to start with but who knows.

That's what I'm thinkin. My calories right now should already be a pretty big deficit for my size. Just gotta wait until this Sunday and see what happens.

I had one weigh in where I gained 0.6 but I knew there was no way I ate too much because I actually ate fewer calories that week and exercised more than previous weeks. Next week I dropped about 4 pounds (normal about 1.5 for me). So I'm guessing that I just had a sodium issue because the Wife made a ham that week and while my calorie intake was good I ate salty ham for 5-6 days.

That is always fun and I tend to use the clothes as a progress tester as well. Every once in awhile I will pull out clothes that I have bought and didn't fit or fit right, and put them on. It is always nice to see something "new" fit, when it didn't before.

On a side note, when you guys are on a cut, what kind of rep range do you go for in the gym? Do you find that you can still increase the weight on the bar during the cut?
