Tournament Announcement
Good evening everyone!
I'm very happy to see such a positive momentum shift in this thread as of late. I keep a close eye on what goes on and am very thrilled that people are really coming together and motivating each other to stay focused. After all, that's what it's all about, isn't it? There has been some remarkable weight loss thus far, and plenty of pictured proof to show for it. I wish you all the best while heading into the next five weeks, as this will be the hardest challenge for you all yet. Stay focused, stay strong and most of all enjoy the new you, because when it's all said and done, you won't be who you were three months ago.
So with that said, we lost another ten participants this week. I'm willing to bet a few of them will trickle back in because something usually pops up that prevents some from submitting. However, this week, I am taking the time to name out each participant that didn't weigh in, just in case you *thought* you submitted to me, or in the rare case that I may not have gotten it. You can check the bottom of this post to see if your name is on the elimination list.
Alright everyone, here's the stats for the week and I look forward to seeing everyone inch one step closer to your goals.
Happy trails.

Hey guys, heres a wee progress pic roughly 1 month apart. Probably should have done the same stance for comparison, but hey. I think theres a good improvement at the side of my chest and towards my fat, hairy white ass belly. My arms, shoulders and chest have grown a bit I think, but my chest is still too fat at the front to see anything interesting.
EDIT: Oops, that pic is the 21st of jan, not 26th.

What's funny is that I'm on my phone now so the image didn't show up automatically. But as soon as I saw Cunfewzed ask that question and your response, I knew you were holding up a copy of The Sun. I often read it for comedic value and to have a gander at page 3 and the 'News in briefs'.

Tabloid supposedly but I'm reluctant to believe most things I read in there. That story was true though, a huge children's tv star years back turned out to be a kiddy fiddler with hundreds of victims. The story only broke shortly after his death despite many people within the *** knowing at the time.

I'm sure i'm not the only one that has this happen, but when I tell people I work with or my family, that I want to get down to 200, they look at me like i'm crazy. They say i'll look too skinny, or i'll look like im dying. My mom just told me today it doesn't look like I should lose another 42 pounds. I'm not super tall, so are they crazy or am I? I haven't been 200 since probably middle school, so i'm sure i'll look weird. But I think it's just cause i've only seen myself as huge for so long.
Anyone get this kind of treatment too? How did you deal with it?LEO

Honestly, when people ask me I just tell them I don't have a goal weight. 200lbs is not too small for 5'10", I'll be going sub 200 and I'm 6'0.5". Most people just have a warped perception of normal or rather, society's perception of normal is average and the average is bigger now than it ever has been, as is 'normal' weight.

^ Never been overweight in my life really but I'm 190 and feel skinny, however, it's all about how much body fat you are carrying. If you are over 20%, you should get down until you're in a healthy range.
In my opinion, being lean around 12-14% is ideal but I don't have any scientific data to back that upwww.grazethesky.com

Sad state of people's minds when "kind of fat but not quite morbidly obese" is considered normal.
At my highest weight (221 lbs), I'm sure people didn't look at me and think "wow he's fat," but I thought (correctly) that I was significantly overweight. I'm sure most people would have just considered me "about average," which in hindsight I find absurd.

i have no real clue what my BF% is haha. i've gotten readings between 28 and 35. So i'm guessing im like halfway between there. no idea. I just want to look good and see some muscle. I wanna hit 199 so I can say I've been there. Then i'll start bulking and hitting the weights hard. Can't wait to eat real meals again!

This is how I feel. Before my cut this year, I was definitely considered avg. Some ppl would even call me "in shape" Truth be told is I had about 30 more lbs of fat on me than I should. I'm still losing. I wasn't considered fat by any means but society accepted me as "fit"

I work with a guy in your boat. Former 300+ lber, right now he's somewhere in the 240-250 range, probably 5'9"/5'10". No doubt he could drop another 50-60 lbs and look totally healthy, but people get so used to seeing someone being so large that they assume they'll look sickly at a normal, healthy weight. Don't let anyone else tell you how far you should cut. Do what works for you, cut until you're happy with how you look and/or feel.

I think a lot of people really underestimate the amount of lean mass they have when the start losing weight.
When I first started losing weight at 245 or so I thought I'd be in good shape around 180, no I'm 205 or so and I'm thinking I probably will need to get to 165-170.Vikings--Wolves-Gophers
