I'm going to get a laptop. I used to be up on a lot of the specs and such, but no longer.

I don't need some gaming system speed demon. primary use will be streaming movies, music, basic surfing, etc.

my current laptop that is now dying is almost 6 years old, so anything I get now will be light years ahead of where I am now.

using this as a jump point, what are your thoughts?

Checkout slickdeals net, they tend to post deals on laptops there. I've been using AMD for few years now but I am starting to convert back to Intel with the i7 cpu's.
