Looking forward to spending a low-key, relaxed holiday at my parents house just outside of Chicago. We're going to have chateaubriand and some sort of sea food (because of my non meat eating yoga instructor sister-- always causing drama at the dinner table lol). No you're right Matman, that's one of her motivations. My brother and I don't question her about (because she gets pissed if we do) so we don't really know why exactly but she has mentioned that she thinks it's unhealthy, that animal farming is cruel, slaughter houses are awful, etc etc etc

Tell her to move to Norway, farmers are are constantly complaining about how well kept cows need to be here by law. Sooo many regulations on feed,outdoor time,space etc. we got the happiest cows on earth living here

Probably , cheapest beef (****ty quality) is a slab of meat at about 31 dollars are kg. Triple that for good quality beef.

Edit: and probably what we call good quality beef is probably crap quality for you guys. Norwegian food apart from salmon and milk from our happy cows! ... sucks.

Well its not too shabby with our high income, but beef is still pricy for even our standard income. Make due by crap quality beef and tons of chicken breasts and tuna (salmon is expensive here, even tho its like our nr1 export... makes sense.. could probably buy norwegian salmon far cheaper in other countries than it costs in norway) Shame I dont live closer to the swedish border, everything is like half price there

As long as you shop sensibly over here its not so bad.
And lots of protein shakes
